Everything. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel like, while we were there for our short stay, like home from home. We only stayed one night, but truly wished it had been longer. the food was good. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the rooms were comfortable. We particularly liked our bathroom, which was very bright and spacious (although down a few steps from the main bedroom so would be unsuitable for disabled/infirm guests). The hotel's location was very nice - right beside the sea and close to all shops and amenities.
all reviews » My wife was taken ill the first morning and the staff were very helpful especially te duty manager. We were obliged to return home.We have stayed at the Bacchus on three occasions and found it to be friendly, welcoming, comfortable lounge and bedrooms well appointed with tea and coffee provided with biscuits! The hotel is very well situated, 2mins from the sea front. Excellent breakfasts and good food in general, prompt service.comfortable bed. also pleasantly surprised by how close beach was to hotel.The friendliness, happy to help, nothing a problem to the staff. Local to our relatiions. The staff were excellent. Only a couple of minor points - no phone or dressing table in room. Also the shower was just an attachment in the bath and was not very powerful.The lack of a quiet dining room. I can't think of anything.We found plumbing system could be pretty noisy!.otherwise there really wasn't anything not to like. Shower in need of cleaning, mould in several places. Noisy at night especially after pub closing time. Staff in resteraunt simply served food and removed dirty items. Necessary to go to bar to order further. Even though we were told we'd been put in a quieter room because of the karyoke it was still far too loud to be able to sleep. They said it would finish at midnight but it was still on at 15 minutes past. On the website it said there was a hairdryer in the room but when we got there it said a hairdryer was available on request. When we made a cup of tea in the room it had a very chemically taste.we booked a family room but were told before arrival it was not available the staff did however make us fairly comfortable in a normal size double room and adjust the price accordingly. I could not class this as a hotel it was no more than a guest house,the ensuite consisted of the wash hand basin by the bed a small shower and toilet in a tiny room,hotel prices for a guest house.
