Everything was perfect: the room was big, the bed very confy, the bathroom was clean. We got a key for the house, so we could get in and out at our convenience. The RSC is just ten minutes away and it is a very quiet area, so we had a perfect night sleep. There was even a TV in the room and wifi connection. We couldn't ask more! The breakfast is outstanding and the staff very friendly. I will definitely recommend it.
all reviews » The Garth House was a great find - a bed and breakfast conveniently located at a great price with nice facilities and great service. The owner cooked up a nice English breakfast for me each morning, drove me to the train station and did some checking via phone and internet about storage lockers at Warwick Castle. Great place. Ian gave great recommendations and cooked delicious English breakfasts (we didn't meet Louise). The house was the perfect 10-min walk from the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare's Birthplace, in a cute residential neighborhood just far enough away from the hubbub of the town center. A perfect 2-room guest house. Our hosts at the Garth House really made our visit special. They are located very close to town, and we were able to walk anywhere we needed to go, and leave are car parked. Our room, while on the small side was very pretty and spotless! Breakfast in the morning was delicious and made a great start to our day. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is thinking of staying in Stratford-upon- Avon: the atmosphere is lovely, the couple who run the house are extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is ideal for both of the RSC theatres. I look forward to staying there again. A real gem. Delightful B&B, Ian very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was not ensuite (was right next door and exclusive to the room), but because of this it was light and spacious. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Easily within walking distance of the town centre. The house is full of warm welcomes and the one that will make you feel at home. Beautifully decorated and incredibly cosy. It was about a ten minute walk to both the train station and the city center in Stratford-upon-Avon, and it was extremely affordable, much more so than the other places I looked into staying. We received a warm welcome and help with parking. The house was beautifully warm, bedroom comfortable and quiet overlooking the garden. Lovely breakfast and a short walk to the theatre. Plenty of other parking nearby but there could be a charge. Not a problem as far as I was concerned but might have been an issue if staying longer than one night. Ian does have a visitors permit available - but only one though as that is all the Council will allow!. The decor looked a little bit faded/jaded in places. It was a bit fussy for my personal taste but very well done. I would have liked a stand up shower though the corner bath was delightful. Wifi connection was very slow and kept disconnecting and reconnecting, making it difficult to work in the evening. Nothing!. Maybe the only thing that wasn't perfect was the fact that the bathroom in our room didn't have a real door, but only a big curtain. It was a bit intimidating. Other than that, great accommodation!. No shower in bathroom, limited parking. Nothing negative to say. I have no negative comments. Shower - not proper stand up shower, which was manageable, however temperature kept going very hot and cold. Nothing everything was great. Nothing. Nothing. parking was a problem but I managed ok. Nothing to report. I would have preferred en suite. Parking was okay, didn't use the parking permit facility though.
