Very pleasant hotel for an overnight stay and easy to find. Great value!. Good value for money and the staff were very friendly and efficient. the chance to have take aways and use trays cutlery ect. Ease of access to port.Very clean and comfortable. location 4 cruise terminal @new forest. Ease of acess to the motorway. The ease of booking in, the room was very good, excellent bathroom facilities especially the Dove body/shampoo wash, very nice touch. Breakfast was good.
all reviews » it was so convenient for staying at when we were crusing the the next day with PandO so we felt very relaxed at the start of our holiday. Excellent position. Nice clean rooms with friendly staff. The general ambience, and the price.convenient to the docks. clean and friendly. Basic hotel for a very reasonable price. The staff were very helpful. My crutches were left in the hotel room and they sent via a taxi to the port. All done on the phone. Very helpful. Although the breakfast was only descibed as 'continental', the selection was excellent (and most guests don't need a cooked breakfast anywaylooking at them!). The room was clean and the hotel in general was very good value for money for our south coast trip. It was a very plesant stay and staff were very helful. Clean and comfortable. Room and Food. I requested a non smoking room but was not given one. not a lover of continential breakfast, it could be improved with a wider selection of breads. Personally, and for the rest of my family, the breakfast experience was not well organised. Most guests were left to their own devices. Tables needed cleaning and clearing. The toasters were situated in a poor place and were of an old design, clumsy and need of risk assessment. My husband found it difficult to negotiate other guests and get his burnt toast out of a hard to operate toaster. It would have been nice to eat in when we arrived rather than have to go out again but the pub down the road is good value for money.No other facilities, such as Restaurants near to Hotel. the blankets are too short and not thick enough. No selection of meals after being told on arrival at 8.45 food was served till 9.30pm we only just had a meal but we could only choose from 1 item at 9.15pm staff did apologise but it would have been good to know beforehand. bathroom cold; no shower caps; not enough tea-bags; blue lamp-shades in blue decor rather uninviting. There was no menu for the bar meals in the room. We were placed in a noisy room next to the elevator.The breakfast area was messy and the hot breakfast was poor. Dry scrambled egg and warm sausages were the only items available.I saw some elderly people unable to manage to reach the hot food, far too high up in my opinion. Unfortunately the cistern of tne toilet leaked and the toilet floor was a little wet. As we only stayed overnight this was not too much of a problem. We did not discover this until 2330 so reported it in the morning. The receptionist organised another room so that we had better toilet facilities for the time we had left.not dislike, need more staff on when checking in. about 20 arrived at the same time. only 1 person was checking in . Very limited dinner menu although food was good. Very basic foyer/bar/restaurant area it was a bit like a hospital waiting area.Breakfast was a bit chaotic, but this was obviously due to lack of staff. It was to far from the centre of southampton, we caught the train to southampton so had to taxi to and from the centre, this cost £10 one way.Had we known the area before booking we would not have chosen this location, also two out of the 6 taxis got us totally lost, making a 10 min journey 40 to 50 min's. There wasn't even a shop in walking distance!. Selection of Breakfast Menu. no food at weekend. Very isolated position. Would never have paid full the full price to stay there. We arrived late after a long journey at around 11pm. The bar was open whilst we were at check-in. We dropped our stuff off in the room and came straight down to have a night cap at the bar to find it closed and the staff having burgers in the bar. it would have been good if they had mentioned to us when we got there that the bar was closing and we could have had a drink before retiring.Poor lighting, and dirty breakfast tables. Website did not show that it was in a cage. Not impressed by this. Breakfast was poor and too much chlorine in water and juice machine. Objected to paying for coffee at breakfast.poor coffee for breakfast. Not having a restraunt was a disadvantage as not everyone likes take away food.shower floor slippery when wet. No evening meals availabe at weekend. This was not obvious in the advertising material.It was fully booked and there wasn't enough room for people to sit and have breakfast in comfort. The fruit juices tasted very watery. No bacon!!!! (Ha Ha!).
