Set in the Bedfordshire countryside, the Airman Hotel is 15 minutes’ drive from Hitchin and the A1(M) motorway. The restaurant and bar feature fresh-cooked food, beamed ceilings and a log fire. The Airman Restaurant serves British and international dishes, including English pub favourites such as fish and chips. Continental and cooked breakfasts are available. The Museum of Military Intelligence and the Stonden Transport Museum are both within 10 minutes’ drive. Luton Airport is a 30-minute drive from the Airman Hotel. Stansted Airport and central London are just over an hour away. Parking is free at the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff.We also found the food excellent and value for money. Friendliness of staff, breakfast was very good.Personal service - had arranged us a ground floor room, so we could store our bikes. Also arranged takeaway meal in the evening when the chef hurt himself. Felt appreciated and got attention despite the staff preparing for a large wedding the following day.

We are just a short drive from a number of places of historical interest, such as Woburn Abbey with it's Safari Park, Hatfield House, Luton Hoo & houton house the birthplace of John Bunyan and the home of The Shuttleworth Collection.

There are several good quality golf courses nearby, including Woburn, Mentmore and Bedfordshire Golf Club.
