The staff were all friendly and helpul and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent as was the value for money. The leisure facilities were great too - we used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room on arrival after a 5 hour journey and it was a great way to unwind. the bar and restaurant are excellent. the leisure club is superb. the rooms and staff are wonderful and we are able to bring our little dog along with us too which is very convenient!.
all reviews » The hotel has had a total revamp which looks great and the staff were very friendly and looked after me very well. everything, it wasreally great value for money. Peace and quite, handy for yorkshire dales. The Bed was so Comfy. Staff. Wifi not working - presumably only a temporary blip but annoying non the less. Note though that reception looked up a phone number for me which was one of the reasons I needed to connect!. Both evening meals were disappointing, and service very slow on Saturday when a large party was being catered for. The flimsy interconnecting doors, with slide bolts/ creaky floorboards. the hotel rang my husband at home in london to say i had not booked in and i was a no show. luckily i had already rang my husband to say i had arrived, but it did cause some confusion though.creaky floorboards above our room woke us early. Our room was a bit cold because the heating was not working very well. I mentioned it to the receptionist and she tried 2 other rooms for me to see if they were warmer and then gave me a portable electric heater which did help.Price of the beers and wines !!. Dreadful light bulbs. No satelite tv and we had to swap rooms, because there was a disco going on above the first room. The hotel smelt as though it had been flooded, like mud, as soon as you walk in the front doors and in all common areas. The room was adequate and did not smell, a good spot just to stop over to sleep but nothing more. The advertised pool was in a leisure centre totally separate to the hotel.Double bed too small for 2. Only two waitresses to cope with demand in restaurant and bar on Friday evening, resulting in Fawlty Towers scenario! Not their fault-this is a management issue.Seem to be a preponderence of flies in the public areas which put me off eating there (we only had breakfast). TV in room was in a strange place. You had to move the TV and stand to be able to watch it!. In need of investment , car park area at entrance pretty shabby. The rooms were very badly sound proofed. Those residing in the floor above sounded as though they were in the same room. Too much external traffic noise.The price of food i.e panini£8.95 had to pay to watch sky. TV films never work.
