Situated in the historic town of Rye, The River Haven Hotel is on the Strand Quay overlooking the River Tillingham. Rye Rail Station is a leisurely 10-minute walk away.

The centre of the medieval town can be reached in a few minutes’ walk. Guests can visit Landgate Tower, build in the 14th century, and admire the charming old buildings.

Staff extremely friendly & helpful. Cleaning much in evidence. Attractive location by the river with the town / shops / restaurants easily accessible. Car parking convenient. Although the weather was bitterly cold we could see how appealing it would be in summer.
All staff very friendly - good breakfast, individually cooked - comfortable, clean rooms. Good value 3-course evening meal in restaurant. Easy walk into the town. Both rooms had a river view and our relatives had been given an upgraded room.all reviews
Relaxed atmosphere. Staff took time to put us at ease - nothing was too
much trouble. Receptionist and Restaurant staff were extremely
welcoming. Cleaner worked hard every day and room was comfortable to
return to. Home from home.
Staff & service were brilliant. Location & parking very good. Restaurant reasonable value & food (dinner & breakfast) was a very good standard.

it was our 43rd wedding anniversary,we have always liked rye so we thought we would spend a couple of days there hotel great staff great annd food great we certainly stay again and would reccomendit to others.
The location was good and very pretty. The staff were very helpful and let us check in early. Because of this our room was cold but they switched the heating on and it was warm soon! Breakfast was good too!.
Very attentive staff , able to accommodate a cycle for a member of our party. Answered all questions fully and put themselves out for us.

Comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced motel-style hotel that provided everything we wanted for a visit to Rye. Ample parking and large bed room. Unpretentious, but reasonable restaurant.
Beautiful view of Rye. Walk to center of town. Relaxing yard with tables by river with view of town. WIFI, helpful and friendly hostess. Variety of Full English Breakfast. On site parking.

I liked the close proximity to the town and all the services it has to offer, it was only a couple of minutes from the bus and train station and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
The staff were second to none. Very friendly and had wicked sense of humour. Very clean, excellent location, value for money. Very good food. Would recommend to our friends!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was within walking distance to the town. The onsite car park was very convenient. The restaurant was spacious and breakfast was delicious.

Staff were excellent and would help in every way if asked,they were friendly and helpful. Food good but could have varied more but they accomodated us well.

Staff were very helpful - they moved me to a room where I could receive wifi.
Staff were very good brought breakfast to our room and were all very helpful.
Some misgivings about the food, which my vegetarian partner found indigestible. No problems for meat-eater me - I enjoyed the Romney Marsh lamb - but on the last evening stilton & broccoli soup (all we wanted after a big lunch in Brookland) was strangely spoilt by too much pepper. Beer selection limited to lager types - they should get in some bottled local ales.
The toilet in Room 13 was smelly but, to be fair, our relatives did not report this, so the staff had no chance to rectify the situation.
Unfortunately, the hot water was far too hot for hand washing! Scalding.
A spare toilet roll would be useful - luckily I took my own as standby -
none left on our last morning!.
Double bed was on the small side & room decoration was a bit tired. Our room overlooked the car park which meant keeping curtains drawn at all times.

room overlooked busy road,windows of a poor state, road noise on and off all night.also walls thin as paper, family in next room, no problem with that until baby woke up v, v, early and we could hear all family talking shouting etc from 6am onwards, soundproofing needs to be addressed.a.s.a.p.
There was nothing I did not like.
There was nothing we could high light. Nothing negative at all.
Our room was very hot, despite a rainy mild week. The rooms were not particularly soundproofed and noise from other guests/traffic outside was noticeable. Im not sure id feel comfortable bringing young children for fear of disturbing other guests.
The only minor fault I can find is that the pillows were a bit lumpy.
Noisy seagulls but we were on the river and close to the sea.
The only drawback was that we booked quite late, and there was only a
twin room available rather than a double.

Newly re surfaced car park which had gravel which trod into the hotel.
I'm sure the owners were as fed up with it as we were.

Only a small thing, the shower head wasn't movable and as I'm quite short could have done with a hand held one.

Bar staff need more training not very professional.
There was noise from the road due to the wooden windows.Floorboards were creakey and walls were thin as tv noise was noticeable.The room was in need of some work as door needed painting and hinges rusty,sink tap was loose also.

Hotel bar a bit sparse.
Hotel dining room was very drab, wooden floors, wooden table and chairs, wooden bar,
(tucked away in a corner) lacked atmosphere, even table cloth's and a small vase of flowers would have given the room a more hospitable look.
It would be nice to have the same breakfast choice on the weekends instead of the limited buffet.
Restaurant closes a bit early. No real ale. Menu could be more extensive.

I paid for a superior double and it just seemed standard to me, I thought we were going to have an outside area with our room as that is what the photo looked like when I booked the superior double!.
