Views of the gardens and castle, are well worth the upgrade price. Breakfast couldn't be faulted, self service so eat as much as you like. Room clean and comfortable, table and chairs which we used to take in the viw from our window.

  The staff were extremely helpful and we enjoyed being in the surroundings of the old part of the hotel. It had character as well as having modern facilties. The location was not only ideally central it was also very picturesque being surrounded by the georgian buildings around the square.   The hotel quality is great. Huge beds - everything well maintained and good quality. Breakfast was good - lots of choice. Great bar attached to the hotel.   the room was superb, staff were more than helpful,especially the porter who looked after our luggage, plus whilst being unwell on my first night, I rang reception for some blankets and they brought them straight up to my room.
