    We arrived early and could book in !! So close to city centre and attractions .room HUGE more than big enough for the four of us coffee and biscuits much appreciated on cold Oct evening. Close to numerous restaurants for evening meal and it is lovely and warm on return . Clean and comfy room which is more than I bargain for. I wish Abbotsford Guest House can appear in other countries so I don't need to spend time searching for a good hotel anymore. Breakfast is nicely made. I see no drawbacks at all! Totally worth it!

    My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and we didn't want to leave! From the time we arrived we were welcomed like family and we received excellent advice about things to do and see in Edinburgh. The room we stayed in was spacous, clean, nicely decorated and the bathroom was new with pretty tiles. The breakfasts are fantastic! We were able to roll our suitcases there no problem but there is also a bus stop right n - A really welcoming atmosphere in this old-style house in the area of the Haymarket station (West-End). You will have comfort, cleanliness and an excellent scottish breakfast! Do not be afraid of the dog: Bracken is harmless. You can have a look of him snoring on You Tube!     The Hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is very close to the city center with lots of bars and restaurants on the way in.     The Edinburgh Lodge was welcoming and friendly. The staff are friendly and informative. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable, offering en-suite facilites with added touches. Breakfast was great too. The location was suitable for a 15 minute walk to Princes Street, and the Castle and also for driving out of the city for touring to other de... what people say » stinations. Nice breakfast room and service. Bathrooms modern and clean. If you want to stay out of central downtown, are driving a car and take buses and tours, this works very well. Some signs of wear and tear here and there but it has the character of an older building which was exactly what I was looking for in Scotland. The downstairs sitting room with snacks and bar fridge a nice feature. Business office available.

    Really enjoyed our stay - you could not meet a nicer or more genuine couple than Dot and her husband. The room was really nice with a lovely shower and big tv. Breakfast each morning was brilliant and had a nice choice of a fry or continental. The location is a bit outside the city centre (about £8-10 for a taxi at night) but during the day there ... what people say » is a bus literally right outside the door. The chef even gave us change for the bus - The room was spacious, lovely big bed, bathroom was fab, very clean and very comfortable.The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is outside of the city but the bus stops every 5 mins just outside of the hotel so its ideal and you avoid the heavy parking charges for staying in the centre. Breakfast was good with a hot and cold buffet available. We would definatley stay here again.

    We arrived with our son who is wheelchair bound , and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. She even sent his breakfast up to him on a tray!!! FANTASTIC....The building couldnt have been more central!! All in all, a fantastic budget place to stay in Edinburgh. The owner should be very proud , they do a fantastic job, we loved our stay here.... what people say » We will be recommending No.8 to all our friends , many thanks. - Morag (the owner) was VERY nice and courteous. She greeted us warmly and seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing each day and how we were enjoying Scotland. Also, her breakfast was great and always waiting.     Eveything, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was superb and the rooms were beautiful, once we had figured out where the twon centre was it was an easy walk an we throughly enjoyed our stay and will deffiantely return. - Staff were excellent. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfasts.

    We experienced a serious accident two days before we left. Our granddaughter studying at E.U. helped us navigate and get to airport. She stayed with us two nights. Nadia, the owner would not accept any extra money for her being with us plus Nadia was most concerned and helpful. She was very friendly, told us everything we needed to know and check-in was quick and efficient. The two bedroom, two bathroom, living room and kitchen apartment was huge and extremely clean. The breakfast was self serve, but great. The apartment was located on a nice quiet street about a 45 minute walk or 10 -15 minute cab ride from city centre.

    I loved the fact that even though there were many other guests you still felt like you were " King of the Castle". Heaps of room. Beautiful scenery. Snooker room is a highlight. Watching your son try and chase down a rabbit on the front lawns was amusing ....and never going to happen!
