    The houseboat is as good if not better than any 5 star hotel! Everything is perfect. Tony is a charming host for whom nothing is too much trouble, The setting is idyllic and everything in the houseboat is beautiful. It was huge and the bathroom was spectacular. Tony is a brave man, cooking wonderful breakfasts in the galley kitchen as guests look on. The fresh - Welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast of a very high standard and cooked to order, again nothing was too much trouble. Rooms of a very good standard especially the largest of the rooms, with great balcony and masses of space. Despite being only the second lot of guests everything went without a hitch and owners were very positive about our suggestions.

    Myself and my adult daughter were delighted with the welcoming owners and comfortable facilities at Westbury Lodge.We had a lovely ground floor en suite twin bedded room, which I found convenient, as I am not as mobile as I used to be. We were warmly welcomed and immediately given a cup of tea on arrival. The superior double room was beautifully furnished with a spacious bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities, even wineglasses and a corkscrew were provided. The cooked breakfast was fabulous every morning, and there was a wide range of cereals and fruit available too.     I cannot praise the Fernbank enough. The owner could not have been more helpful or hospitable. The hotel is beautifully decorated cared for. The public areas were very relaxing to sit in. The room I stayed in was spotless and very comfortable. Although I did not use the pool it was very inviting.     Probably the best B&B I have stayed in within the UK (and I have been to a lot). Very friendly owners and lovely clean room! We stayed in the Captain's Room which was nicely decorated with very large bathroom. The room had an ironing board, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and pretty much any toiletries one could need.     Paula was absolutely outstanding as a host with the warmest touch and regard for her guests.     Tasteful, very comfortable room. Not fussy, frilly or floral - a great plus. Pretty spacious. Great size bathroom and funky shower. View of the sea between the trees - and just visible from the comfortable bed. Even had robes in the cupboard - which isnt mentioned on the booking. Could have sat outside on the balcony if it hadnt been raining......... what people say » Our hostess was helpful and informative of the local dining options, and was prepared to give us a lift - but we wanted to walk as it is only 10 minu - The Proprietor was so helpful and friendly. She collected me from the ferry and gave me a lovely cup of tea on arrival. The bedroom was very comfortable, with a well-lit desk to work at. The bathroom had a huge bath and a separate shower. The toiletries were luxurious White Company, and the towels, bathrobe and sheets were also of a very high quality. Breakfast was cooked to perfection with locally sourced food. I would definitely recommend this up-market B+B.

    Foxhills is located just a short walk from the centre of Shanklin old village and is an ideal hotel for a short break on the Isle of Wight. The owners made us feel extremely welcome, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was superb. A particular pleasure was James and Paula's suggested "Round the Isl - The hotel was in a great location for Shanklin, it was clean very comfortable and had a fantastic breakfast collection. James and Paula were very helpful as well as organising our ferry travel they also had a handy pack in the room with local walks and island attractions, they also requested guests to review where they had eaten, this certainly helped with our decisions. Overall a fantastic place and would stay again if ever on the island.

    We enjoyed our short stay immensely. The staff were very polite and friendly. Excellent food, tasty, healthy, great variety. Room was very clean with a comfortable bed, central heating. The hotel is located in a very nice quiet area within an easy access to the station and the shops. The beach, Shanklin Chine and the old town are just a short walk... what people say » away. - Rooms were of a high standard and well maintained. Bathroom was small but perfectly formed with an excellent shower. Tea and coffee were plentiful and they had mugs! Breakfast was excellent with a good selection well prepared. A beautiful building.

    It was wonderful. The place itself was perfect, and it is run by the most accommodating, friendly couple (and their young boy, who proudly showed us to our room). Location is wonderful - quiet and peaceful with the lovely uncrowded beach at Totland easily accessible. Easy to get the bus from Yarmouth and to travel round the island. The hotel is extremely comfortable, rooms are spacious and clean, breakfasts are delicious - the best poached eggs ever- and the staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. Definitely the best of the many hotels we have stayed in on the Isle of Wight. W

    The hotel is a 5 mins walk from the sea front. And a ten min walk from the old village. We had a car- but there are bus stops everywhere and they seem to be very regular. The options for breakfast were very varied and even amended it to suit my needs. The weather was very cold and Gillian the owner gave us an extra he - Loved everything about it. Best ever breakfasts, with all you could ask for. The rooms were stylishly decorated and very comfortable and pleasantly warm when it was cold outside. The hotel is well situated for the beach, transport links and the lovely old village. Gillian and Andy, the proprietors, were very helpful in suggesting the nicest places to visit and how best to get there. All in all a great hotel.
