The Falcons Nest is in the centre of Port Erin, on the south-west coast of the Isle of Man. The restaurant and bar overlook a beautiful, sheltered, sandy harbour and beach. The Falcons Nest has many rooms with magnificent views across the bay. The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from Douglas. It is ideal for walking groups, golfers and railway enthusiasts. As a family-run establishment, the Falcon's Nest provides a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with good-quality service and cuisine.

Staff were really friendly, room spacious and clean, great breakfast. Excellent location, room,food, beer and service. Friendly staff clean room wonderfull food. helpful friendly staff. outstanding service. Friendly, young staff, lovely view across the bay from the well appointed conservatory and good food at a reasonable price. The decor is a little tired in parts so don't stay if you're fussy about not seeing the odd pipe not boxed in or a h all that needs redecoration; but you would make a mistake if you didn't because we thought this was a great location at a good price.

Having to go home.I Was in the I O M on business, Breakfast starts at 8am. In order to be on site for 8am I had to miss breakfast. Reception does not open til 8.30 so if you forget to settle your bill the evening before departure, I did have breakfast while waiting but arrived late at my customers site. The hotel is in a fantastic spot and I will stay their again. The idiot who dliberately set his room alarm for 12.05 a.m at full volume for a joke and the person in the room down the way who had the tv on until 1.50 a.m. Absence of a lift means not a realistic option for those with a disability or who can't manage stairs.Wish they had a lift but this could be because I am getting older and find the stairs harder to climb than I used to. The rain. ;0). Continental breakfast lest out over night. First breakfast very good. Second breakfast no pastry, no butter, no jams, milk turned to jelly. Third breakfast did not turn up at all. Says pets welcome but pets aren't allowed in the bar because they serve food there, so our dog had to stay in the room or in the car. Wouldn't even let us in after they had finished serving food. Apparently that's the law. But if the IOM wants to encourage tourism, then they ought to consider changing it because, instead of staying in the hotel and spending our money there, we went out and took our dog with us.No wi Fi. We were leaving too early for breakfast so were promised a packed lunch instead - which was not provided.Get your bath / shower in early (or very late) as hot water pressure is poor to non existent !. Parts of hotel could do with re-decorating particularaly area on stairs which had been effected by damp.Towels not big enough. Decorations need improving (ceiling paper in bedroom and shower screen in bathroom). On last night was a disco below our room very noisy have written a letter of complaint to hotel manager. Poor reception and access to rooms. Only tepid water available in bathroom basin in mornings. poor reception on t.v.No lift. pillows left much to be desired but i guess its personal preference,the shower didnt function well very low water pressure.On two occassion when I had a shower it completely stopped mid flow. I assume this was because someone on the same floor was using it. When it did come back on there was no temperature control and it was boling hot. No sea view in my room. When questioned about our booking they told us they could not get intouch as they had no contact adress. Shower was broken, staff were poorly trained and unmotivated, restaurant was poor but there aren't many options in the town. Choice on restaurant menu was poor. Poor value for money - the room needed some attention e.g. the curtains were hanging off thier hooks. Slow service in the restaurant.

The hotel is perhaps best known for its cuisine and has an a la carte restaurant, carvery and function suite. Meals and snacks are available in the 2 public bars, serving real ales and an extensive range of whiskies.

The Falcon's Nest Hotel is a 'Free House' and serves a wide variety of beers and a selection from the local breweries. The hotel is a recognised member of CAMRA. The resident lounge bar, also open to the public, is in true tradition of the public house - relax in front of the open fire, enjoy the magnificent views across the bay and headland, whilst sampling the real ales. The hotel has long been a local meeting place and 'Ophidian's Lair' saloon bar and its pool table and jukebox provides a lively and convivial atmosphere. Live sports via satellite are shown in this bar.

The restaurant overlooks Port Erin Bay with a magnificent view of the sea. The hotel provides the best of traditional English cuisine, including many local seafood delicacies.

The former ballroom of the hotel is restored to an elegant Victorian style dining room where the renowned carveries are enjoyed. Joints are of the finest quality are prepared for your enjoyment.

Travelling information

From the sea terminal follow signs to the South, Port Erin and Castletown, A5. As you exit Douglas you will pass a bus station. Go through three sets of lights and you will pass McDonalds and the Fire Station. You now need to get into the left hand lane and follow the A5 to the Airport. Proceed towards Castletown and at the next two roundabouts turn right. Continue on this main road to Port Erin and after the Shore Hotel turn right still following signs for the A5. At the roundabout go straight on and past the petrol station. The Falcons Nest is the last building on your left at the start of the Promenade.

From the Airport: As you exit the airport you will come to a roundabout. Follow signs for the south, Port Erin, A5. Go right at the next two roundabouts. Continue along this main road to Port Erin. After the Shore Hotel, turn right still foloowing the A5. At the roundabout go straight on past the petrol station, the Falcons Nest is the last building on your left at the start of the Promenade.
