We stayed here for my brother's wedding in Neston. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The restaurant also had good food and I loved the full English breakfast that was included in the price. The breakfast also had a lot of options for people to choose from. It's right next door to a famous ice cream shop, Nichol's(?). The bathrooms were newly renovated and my boyfriend really loved the large tub for taking a bath! I thought the bed was really soft and comfortable, but I like s. all reviews »
We used the hotel as a base while we searched the area for somewhere to live due to our impending relocation. The Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The location was fantastic, so much so we are now moving in just down the road! So this lovely pub will be our local which is great as the food is fantastic! Would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, it's in a great location for exploring the surrounding area, a stones throw from Liverpool, Chester, No.
As they were unable to provide me with the type of room I booked (a double) the hotel upgraded me to a much better room at no extra cost to me. The room was lovely with a great view over the bird sanctuary. I was staying there to attend a funeral the following day and the staff were extremely helpful. Overall - Wonderful ! ! ! !.
A delightful place with character and a relaxing friendly atmosphere, in a great location. The food is also excellent. They were renovating the main reception area of the hotel, but there was little disturbance and I was upgraded from a single to a double. I'd definitely stay again.
A basic hotel, clean and comfortable. Recently refurbished, at a guess. I only had breakfast, but the other food I saw looked good. Free wi-fi with a good signal. Very nice location close to the Dee marshes and an easy walk into Neston for shops. Other good eating places nearby.
We have stayed here several times over the last few years it is a very
nice place to stay for a relaxing few days. Bear in mind it is a pub
with a nice atmosphere good food and clean bedrooms rooms. Really good
chinese down the road mr Chows well worth a visit.
Location, staff courtesy and attention. Food was excellent, well prepared, reasonable cost and served promptly.
Although an old building, attempts had been made to provide modern facilities and services that you would normally expect from a much larger hotel.
The views of the Wirral stunning, comfortable rooms, breakfasts excellent, Staff very courteous with plenty of people skills .I thourghly enjoyed my stay at the Ship also the bar had a nice atmosphere good real ale's.
As I was on an Ancestory trip my Ancestors lived in this area for over 200 years , the Manager was quite interested in my story and history of this area if he could help me with anything else just write back to Him.
The Ship was very comfortable and quiet, just right for a break. The staff were very friendly and efficient particularly meal service which was faultless. Breakfast was very good. I would stay there again.
Rooms simple but very comfortable and very clean. The staff were very friendly. We were there for a local wedding and they let us check in early at no extra cost to get ready for the wedding.
Everything, really. Most of all the excellent food, and there was a comfortable friendly atmosphere, even on a day which was exceptionally busy. I'd recommend the Ship to anyone.
The service was excellent. We have stayed at the hotel before and one of the reasons we returned and chose to stay at The Ship was the wonderful breakfast - we both love it!.
The bed was very comfortable. The room seemed to have just been redecorated and very nice. Overlooked the car park but still had an unexpected view of the river.
Comfortable room with the convenience of the pub right there. Great and friendly staff. It was within walking distance of the people we were visiting.
Great customer service, staff friendly and attentive. Food delicious and generous portions, Hotel/rooms spotless, Fab views, great atmosphere.
The Staff were very courteous, and the breakfast was substantial. The restaurant provided a good menu and the food was excellent.
The friendliness of the staff the calm relaxing atmosphere, and the
comfort of the rooms, all helped to make an enjoyable visit.
Nice position, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere! Excellent food-
breakfast superb!.To be commended at it's price point!.
Nothing too much trouble. Early use of the room was agreed and this was very helpful to us as we were attending a funeral.

was very impressed with the staff, all extremely helpful and friendly, courteous and polite at all times.
The fact that my room overlooked Parkgate.
The modern bathroom and comfortable bed.
The peace and quiet.
Breakfast was perfect cooked well, not too much. Beds really comfortable. All in all really nice hotel.
The pub downstairs was excellent ,good quality food and staff.perfect setting right on the front.
Modern enough for comfort but with a classic old world charm. Well priced with a great staff.
Front bedroom with great view - perhaps we were lucky as some obviouslynoverlook the Car Park.
Good location and value for money. Rooms were not large but clean, neat and comfortable .

Excellent food and good atmosphere.

Very comfortable rooms; good food; friendly staff.
Spacious rooms.
Good Location.
Staff friendly.
Friendly staff, excellent pub food,
free wifi.
The food, lovely bathroom comfortable bed.
The friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.
ease of checking in and a great breakfast.
Nothing.
Only a minor thing, There were no travel cots available for our 1 year old son, but we brought our own & the staff accommodated us into a larger room to fit he cot.
A few not-properly-finished features in the new bathroom and the bath needed a non-slip finish. Unattractive laminate floor in the breakfast room. Not suitable for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Hotel car park was used by the general public without any controls or restraints and at busy times spaces were limited.
Bar was extremely busy at times and a 'residents' eating area (already available) would have offered more relaxing and quieter venue for evening dinners.
Noisy radiator in the room when CH was on.
Nothing Negative , Remember this Hotel is from the 1700 to 1800,s.
We were in room 12 and the view was not too pleasant - we shut the curtains and then we were okay - we had a nicer room with a view during our last stay.
No curtain/blind at the bathroom window, the frosted glass didn't seem enough to make me feel comfortable. Ask the chef not to put cress under the risotto when serving - it went a bit stringy! It would have been a perfect meal otherwise.
Nothing.
Felt that room 35 may have been something of a 'short straw' but
it served it's purpose well,so no complaints!.
I couldn't open the window in our room and therefore it was a bit stuffy. This was reported on leaving. Otherwise great place to stay.
Nothing.
Without a car difficult to get to - buses only run every hour or two and taxis to the city not so cheap. Not the fault of the hotel I know but a downside to those without transport!.
I kept banging my ankle on a pipe that jutted out near the window / end of the bed - it was difficult to avoid due to the size / shape of the room.
The toilet didn't flush properly.
Early breakfast 7.30 till 9 could do with changing it to 8 till 10 for a more relaxed stay.it felt you were being forced out as quick as you had arrived.
This is an old builfing and is looking tired. Does not need much doing, but it needs some attention.
The hotel has been recently refurbished and in a short while may not look so neat and new with budget decorating but for now all is fine!.
Couldn't fault it for the price.
the only thing I think they could improve upon was the coffee at breakfast.
Just one small thing even though my room was tidy I noticed two dead
flies nr pipe work under the window on the sunday when I checked into
the room and they were still there when I left on the tuesday.
could smell cig smoke in bathroom, very strong.
Not very disabled-friendly due to stairs, but manageable with care.
climbing three flights of stairs.
can't think of anything.
