The staff were very freindly and extremly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good. Good standard of cleanliness and good quality food. Comfort and pleasant staff. Very pleasant and light room (we had room 15 which is on the side of the building so we did not get any traffic noise from the main road). The restaurant is very good and we were happy to eat there rather than search out other restaurants which were some distance away. The service in the hotel and restaurant was without fault.

The breakfast was excellent, however, it would be nice to have some milk in a small jug on the table. The evening meal had a great starter and sweet, but the main meal (sirloin steak with garlic sauce) was not all that good.the personnel was nice......... Visited local landmarks and ate at the hotel in the evening. Spanish barman was very pleasant and helpful. Hard to find. The name on the outside is "The Lodge", I was looking for "Otmoor Lodge" !. We were happy to stay in the countryside and the trip to Oxford and Blenheim Palace not long, but it adds little time to the journey if you are wanting to visit Oxford frequently, but that is a choice one makes and not a criticism of the hotel. (Take a good road map, you will need it). Small TV and limited channels and internet in room.car park could be smartened a little. limited lounge area. The hotel signage did not stand out very well and was not easy to get to or find. The bedspread was not very clean in my room. The staff forgot to tell me where my room was, which happened to be outside across a car park!. the image on the website was very different from the one received at the hotel.....By 7.30 in the evening they had run out of certain dishes on the menu and didn't seem to know what they had available. Due to language barrier of the staff it was hard to explain what we wanted. Totally closed on Sunday. Monday morning had to get staff out of bed at 07.20 despite informing them on our arrival that we had an appointment at 0800. So no breakfast of any shape or form. (Not sure if the Manager knows his staff do not serve breakfast until 0800 - he told us that breakfast started at 0700...

From London: m40 j8 signed Oxford a40; dual carriageway to Headington roundabout. Last exit (signed Crematorium) for Horton-cum-Studley down Bayswater road (humps). Past Crematorium, and after 2 miles, straight over at staggered crossroads (see The Lodge sign). After another 2 miles you enter Horton-cum-Studley. The Lodge is on your right after a sharp right hand bend into the village. From Birmingham M40: take J9 signed A34 (Blenheim Palace). Take A34 South for Oxford. Second turn off for Islip/Wheatley. Through Islip (signed Wheatley). After 4 miles turn left for Horton-cum-Studley and The Lodge is on the right after the sharp right hand bend into the village. From the A34 South from M4 and Southampton: A34 past Oxford to Islip-Bletchingdon-Wheatley. Turn off North of Oxford and follow signs as from Birmingham above.
