Friendliness of staff, made us feel very comfortable, choice on menu andchoice of where to eat in the evenings ie in the restaurant or moreleisurely in the bar area. Hotel was basic but very comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent. The meals were very good.Generally all was good with this hotel, although the double room booked was not available and a twin room was offered as an alternative; a bottle of wine was offered as compensation which was nice. We especially enjoyed the tennis on offer. The hotel was central for our needs - sightseeing and shopping in Inverness, Aviemore and the Cairngorms.Situation and price for a visit to the Cairngorms. a good value hotel with helpful friendly staff, above average food and value for money. Nice atmosphere pleasant staff food was good. Great location in the Cairngorms.peace. Rooms were nice and warm. Walls were thin but hotel guests were not noisy. Rattley windows and creaking floorboards, we heard everyone movingaround - but charm of hotel outweighed this preferred to modernsouless rooms. We booked an extra night and moved to a double room, ok except paper thin walls, you would here a pin drop in adjoining room. Still good value for money. The Bar door (The Village Bar) banged everytime anyone went in or out. This went on until 1.00am. Obviously, there are still a few smokers!. Bedroom carpet needed a good gong over with a hoover. Overall tiredness and cleanliness of the building and room.rather disorganised. Breakfast does not start until 8am, not much use if you would like an early start up in the hills.Cleanliness of the public rooms was very poor, meal times were very un organised.
