I booked the hotel for myself and my staff as we where working from home, the Service from all staff members was excellent they seen to our every need, fantastic choice at breakfast cooked fresh the way we liked it every morning, Evening meals again delicious, I would highly recomend this accommodation to everyone. It was good value for Money. The staff were very friendly considering how much work they have to do. The decor style was a nice try. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. Considering they said it would be noisy the night we stayed our three year old slept like a log. We didn't hear a thing.

Meal was great and service very good. the manager told us about the music evening and even offered to book alternative accommodation if we thought it would be too noisy.. The location of this hotel really suited us for the Cairnryan ferry to Ireland. We have stayed there before and in tend to do so again. Exceptionally obliging and friendly staff,good breakfast,great position for the Galloway forest park.Good value for money. how close things were like galloway park ,castles and distillerys . great place to visit again in future. Friendly staff,good service decent food, great fast breakfast and fantastic value for money. Exceptional value for money. Very comfortable with very friendly staff and excellent food. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff. And also any meals we had were excellent. it was very peaceful and relaxing all the staff we met were really nice and friendly. Good parking. The hotel was in the town, yet close to the A 75 along which I was travelling. The ambience was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Central location for touring Dumfries and Galloway. Even though the style of the Decor was nice. It could be done to a slightly higher standard. The crumbling paint, touched up patches, rippling Lino look a bit shoddy. However this wasn't a major problem for us, we still had a lovely time. Bathroom was very cold and water seemed never to be hot. nothing. N/A. Minor fault with shower head not clamping. Informed staff so they were now ware of this and they thanked me for telling them!. The very poorly designed en-suite. This is going to sound silly but due to bad positioning of toilet roll holder,the ensuite toilet was almost impossible to navigate!! A small thing but most annoying especialy in the middle of the night!!. nothing. The food at night was average whilst the breakfast was good. The hangover. The room was quite small with very limited wardrobe space, the way the VERY small TV was mounted made decent viewing impossable and you could not tilt it to improve things. for 18 hours we had no hot water after complaining there was an apology, but that was it no complimentary offerings or even slight reduction in bill and we were not the only ones affected. Hotel needs updating. It needs decorating and a general tidy up. Bedroom was very small, with a tv 6ft off the floor, and no bigger than a laptop!! Certain areas were a bit scruffy,and Decor style rather all over the place. Overall I would expect more for £80 a night. Booked 3 rooms a week in advance and only had 2 rooms Rooms freezing cold no heating on. Food not great what one would expect from a pub 20 years ago. Room couldn't swing a cat in it so very pokey The smell of bleach/Cleaner was overpowering and really distasteful.
