  Location and the guy at reception was fabulous; he gave us loads of local information which was useful when we went out [for a rugby match we got travel directions, for going out for tea we got a map highlighting all the top places to eat and when we went out in the evening he gave us a map with all the best places to go out and also the printed ad... what people say » dress of the hotel incase we got 'lost']. - The staff were very polite and helpful both me and my wife were very impressed . i have stayed a lot of hotels but the attitude of the staff in newcastle was very impressive they made our stay very pleasurable even the manager asked if we had a good night

  I recently stayed in the Hilton in York and I have to be honest, I came away feeling ripped off. It nearly put me off trying the Hilton again. I tentatively booked the Double Tree for 2 nights - I have a sweet tooth and the warm cookie was a real incentive - and a lovely touch. I have got to say that I loved the hotel. I usually stay at the Matfen... what people say » Hall but I will always check the Hilton first now as everything about my room/stay was perfect. - I can honestly say that this was my best hotel experience ever! And I have traveled extensively in Asia and Europe. I stayed at the Double Tree at the Newcastle Airport because I had an early flight the next morning. My kids and I enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant before they headed back home to Durham. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The room was perfect.
