Extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Our room wasn't ready on arrival but the staff took our bags, jackets etc. We had a great lunch and our room cards were brought to us in the restaurant and our bags etc were already in the room. I would call that great service. Loved the decor in the hotel and also our room.The room was stylish, large and comfortable. Had excellent breakfast in the morning. The hotel was very easy to find and lots of parking space.
all reviews » I love how the dakota looks it is a beautiful hotel especially the lounge reception and dining area the staff are always lovely and helpful especially tge receptionist that was on when i arrived at the hotel i think it is really good for business occassions. Familiar, consistent high quality. A unique experience, away from home. I like the simplicity and functionality as well as the intimate surroundings and atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were great. lovely hotel, and brilliant value for money. the reception staff was very helpful and friendly. We unfortunately did not spend too much time in the hotel, but would do the next time we visit. I have recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease and have to follow a strict gluten/wheat free diet. The reception and restaurant staff were brilliant and helped as much as they could. Very nice hotel experience for a small price and the room was very well equipped with tea and coffee handmade cookies as well as spare towels hairdryer and free wifi. So far the best hotel that I have stayed in ! Staff very friendly and helpful , food fantastic , very clean and spacious place. I will be for sure coming back !. The relaxed atmosphere and ambiance. We were going to a concert in Glasgow. Needed a taxi to get to nearest train station. We had to run after the concert to make all the connections to get last train. There isnt much to do exept go for dinner and vreakfast unless you get a taxi into town. The room i was jn this time wasnt the same standard as it was the previous times i hv stayed over a year ago the carpet looked used and neede renewed the shower had a little mould and flooded the full bathroom. Nothing I would change. cant honestly think of anything... The seating in the restaurant is very close together. It makes me very uncomfortable sitting so close to a couple having a conversation. Nothing. Breakfast should be included within the price and gym room was far to small- need to be at least 3 sizes of current . Nothing. Not enough reception staff at times. location was out of Glasgow - not much foodwise around. Nothing. The mattress. It was well used and very very uncomfortable . I woke in the morning from one of my worst night sleeps in a long time. My room was 305. I mentioned it go the receptionist in the morning and she said that the mattresses are being replaced....I wish they he'd replaced 305 before we stayed as it did take the shine from our stay. Didn't have 24 hour room service & restaurant was over priced & not a great selection on menu. No information regarding breakfast option, did ask reception staff regarding this and stayed for breakfast as well, otherwise we would have went somewhere else for this. Food was good but value for money wasn't. The presentation of bar food and room service food was poor. Breakfast was disappointing in that waiter forgot to bring the toast he asked if we wanted. As with a lot of hotels, butter, milk and coffee seemed to be rationed. The two measly pieces of bacon on my cooked breakfast were frazzled beyond belief, with a half slice of black pudding sat on top. Had to send it back. Nothing obvious to dislike. Nothing. the fact our drinkz bill got mislaid. Nothing. Public Area Lighting levels poor. Must be difficult for people with poor vision , or Eyesight issues,. Dining room was cramped with little room between tables and narrow aisles, resulting in aukward manouvres by guests at breakfast & dinner. I was also dissapointed that the internet was chargeable at this level - I've stayed at much smaller chains and independants where it is free. I realise it was part of the style, but found the hotel too dark and oppressive - everywhere was dimly lit and very dark decorative features added to the gloom. Restaurant food was below par on my visit. Location, not much arround it, just offices and industrial estate. Early checkout, more TV channels. Checking out was a little slow but they were very busy. Another staff member would have helped. Check out at 11 although its normal for most hotels.Would have liked a little later. Breakfast could be later on a Sunday Morning. Most people I know don't get up till late and get breakfast later :). The hotel is excellent with one exception. The materice on the bed was of a very low quality, why cut corners on such an important facility. Hotel entrance is too dark! The capacity restaurant is too small, and you'd better book your table to be sure having your diner!. The mattress in Rm 319 was uncomfortable as we could feel the wires coming through. Location. Thought the meals were a bit expensive. The price for drink is a bit over the top, £12 for a glass of red wine is just madness. We ordered 2 cocktails and they were disgusting, they had not been mixed properly and were undrinkable, total waste of over £10, very disapointed in th edrinkd but everything else was fabulous. Nothing. Room could have been cleaner, lot of dust on window sill area. Price of Breakfast,bed uncomfortable.
