A soon as we arrived we met with a very helpful and laid back receptionist, Victor, who couldn't have been more accommodating. The entire weekend was enhanced by the unbelievably helpful and pleasant staff that work here: from the bar staff in the restaurant to the reception staff and house keeping in the Premier Inn. The atmosphere was relaxed and felt like a cosy home from home. To be on Willen lake with it's beautiful walkways and plenty for the kids to do was such a bonus. Despite reviews .
all reviews » the hotel was in a lovely location with the lake right next to it was very nice and peaceful at night time not much noise was a very nice and relaxing stay..the rooms were very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy for a hotel..the pub underneath was very nice staff very friendly and very helpful and the food was lovely we almost had seconds. The location was ideal for my business trip with a relaxing outlook over the lake. Staff were very courteous and helpful. For a budget hotel it was very clean, reasonably well equipped and certainly comfortable. The operations manager - Mark Wirth - was very helpful, welcoming and 'switched on'. Rooms were clean, well-presented and well equipped. Location is ideal for visiting mk and surrounding area. Loved the view! By a beautiful lake, you can rent boats to go on the lake! The on side pub/resturant had a good food! You can also walk a big circle around the lake! Recommended. Nice location, friendly staff and easy to find. A comfortable bed, what more could you want for one night. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that, but it was not cheap!. A very informative and approachable Manager. All staff were polite and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Good location and bonus of having a restaurant next door. We enjoyed the 5km run on the Saturday around the lake. Our room was clean and comfortable. The presence of the swans was delightful. Location was nice enough next to a man made lake (although rather smelly) and with a pub/restaurant on site (not very cheap though). Poorly developed people skills, more interesting in telling me that my booking seemed 'weird' than listening to & understanding my requirement and helping me to meet it/satisfy it next time. Breakfast prices were limited and offered poor value for family of five with two older teenagers. Nothing i didnt like. Only one power socket and it was deliberately built into the dressing table in such a way that you couldn't use most re-chargers with it. Nothing. Our room looked out on a parking lot . We were in the annex. On a previous stay we had a room overlooking the lake with a balcony. £4 per day parking charge. Don't go to the restaurant for dinner, service was so-so menu partially unavailable, confusing pricing, specials, 2 for one etc . Parking situation a farce, (not the hotel's fault but perhaps they could do something with the city to improve it) No phone in the room?. No phone or free WIFI. Car necessary. Having to pay for the car park. Poor shower. Not enough power points. The restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was poor Standard and venue dirty. Staff were unprofessional at breakfast. The restaurant let's the good reputation down that Premier Inns hold. nothing. Lack of hotel slippers which are used to go to the bathroom and within the room. paying extra to park your car. Breakfast in pub area. Better range of beer. Had to pay for car park. Breakfast cold, Half the seating in the restaurant was constantly reserved but never used. Hotel is a bit tiered especially with the premium price you pay compared with other much smarter Inns. The food in the restaurant was appalling. Evening meal and breakfast not very good at all. Usual Premier Inn Soul less ness. 1: paying for car park is ludicrous and unnacceptable considering the location. 2: why pay for wifi? Even mcdonalds is free! 3: most electric points in the room were blanked off!! Overall the restrictions requiring further payments and sorting out were both inconvenient, frustrating and reflects unessessary penny pinching. Cleanness is an issue , fire alarm was triggered at midnight due to a fault and we stood in the cold weather for around 40mins with the kids without any compensation . I could not get wifi connection in the room the staff were un friendly and didn't want to try and sort the problem, when I reported it to reception it was just brushed it off told i must be doing something wrong and told i should have come back down to reception and sorted it the night before.... fine no problem but I didn't fancy going down to reception in my p.js at 1030 in the evening! Had to pay for parking over night. The bed. Beds like concrete. Poor layout in room. No racks for suitcase except the floor which is not good for the elderly. Guests pay for car parking and expensive. Bin wasn't empty Rubbish on balcony worst - paying for car park (£4) !! - not refunded. the room was cleaned occassionally, and no phone in the room. The fact that we had to pay£4.00 to park our car. This is not advertised. A con and very disappointing. The utensils in the restaurant were dirty.
