Before booking in we received a friendly phonecall from the receptionist called Jill - who was there on our check-in.There are not enough words to describe how amazingly brilliant, helpful and thoughtful she was at making our stay so enjoyable. We went up to do a bunjee jump off the Transporter Bridge and her support was inavaluable. Not only did we have free hot drinks all day, she proceeded to entertain our eight year old son with art activities. She recommended Witby which was excellent. Th.

She went beyond the call of duty to help us with places to visit and even typed out directions how to get there as well as to shopping areas. The carvery next door had excellent food and good service. There was 30 minutes of free WIFI per day which was sufficient for our needs. There was ample parking. Very good hotel. Only stopped off for one night as part of a driving tour around the north east. Gill at reception was very helpful, even calling the night before to see if we needed any special requests. Room was plenty spacious and comfortable. Shower was excellent. Breakfast one of the best I've had in a hotel for a while. Good quality, plenty of it and cooked hot to order. The Staff (particularly Jill on reception) were amazing. Could not do enough for my family and I. I have stayed in many hotels and many Premier Inns and in terms of staff and customer service Middlesbrough South is by far the best I have encountered. Well done Premier Inn for employing and retaining this set of employees, they deserve a pay raise!!. Easy to find, friendly staff, spotless room and bathroom and when the lady on reception found out we were there for a family do she even booked the taxi for us. Didn't really have much to do in the town but this wasn't an issue. Having to leave. Nothing. No shower gel etc as standard in room. The lifts went out of action at 12 pm so had to drag a heavy suitcase down the stairs. cant fault it for our purposes. Had to get up early to do what we had to do in M/boro.Apart from that we didn't have any dislikes. Nothing. Towels a little rough!. Internet - only 30 minutes free. Paid connection was very poor. I complained to the provider and they refunded the fee. The hotel didn't look very good from the outside at all , but the inside very good. The room we had had a hard backed chair with a unstable back and only 1soft chair. Had couple in room next door that we could hear talking until early hours of the morning. Nothing. no dislikes. Quad room was a bit on the small side for 4 people, but for a short stay, fine. No restaurant available in the area. The wi-fi connection was a bit temperemental. After paying the weekly fee, I begrudged having to pay for a help line which fortunately I did not need to use, as I got by with the available connection. nothing, slightly longer drive to coast than expected (Saltburn). We had an exam that morning so We asked the receptionist to book a taxi for us the noght before but the taxi never turned up and we were about to miss our important exam. I know it is not the hotel's problem but should later rely on more convinient taxi service. Not enough wardrobe space to hang your clothes. nothing. A bit away from centre. The adjoining Toby Inn, the food & particularly the manor in which it was served was nothing more than disgusting. I will definitely never set foot in there again. Room was a bit cold. Tried to increase temperature but seemed not to go past certain degree. The hotel is now very tired looking and there was a lot of rubbish just outside entrance doors which wasn't tidied during our stay. Our bathroom had a smell of urine - I asked the cleaner to put bleach down the toilet to make it smell nicer but she did not do this. Not up to the usual standard we have come to enjoy with Premier Inn - I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Price for one night B&B with wi-Fi was nearly £90 this does not represent good value any more. No unrestricted WiFi. Don't forget that you don't have your 30 minute daily free internet access at day of departure!. Bathroom was cramped, no bath and the floor was so creaky that a trip to the bathroom in the right woke my colleague up. The walls were so thin we were kept awake by the gentleman in the next room coughing. You're informed of the silent night deal, but really what were they going to do at 2am, make us move rooms so the coughing wasn't a disturbance anymore, I didn't bother to complain since that in itself would have made for an even less restful night!. room very cold. double bed was two singles joined together only one large towel given per day breakfast was over priced for what was available. Lack of a bath- in any room, cold upon arrival and heating clicks off overbight so cold when you wake up too. Bathroom had dreadful smell- needs serious attention. Even the firm pillows were very soft Room was very small.
