What people say

easy going staff, roomvery clean although basic at some levels compared to higher stars. this was not a problem as room only £30 which very reasonable.Excellent transport links, no need to use car over stay. room very clean staff friendly fool excellent.
all reviews Room size. We simply needed a place to stay en route ... and this was perfect; we would return. quietness and cleaness. I did not know it was a College Hall of residence, (perhaps this could be mentioned) it was, however, very pleasant. It was convienient for the places we wished to visit. The restaurant food was excellent and real value for money. The bar/restaurant staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.locatoin. The dining room service was very good, staff polite and friendly. The grounds. Being able to use Campus facilities at very reasonable prices. No need to book breakfast - refectory perfectly adequate. Simple accommodation which for the price was good value. The hotel staff at the stables had shown that they had considered the food needs of the relate cohort and effort was put in to show this. it was clean and warm and resonable for a nights stay. It's convenient for the college. Surroundings, quiet. The breakfast was good and professionally served. However, a member of staff disturbed me at 10 pm for no reason, and the mattress was worn out and unacceeptable. The staff were very friendly. TV and radio reception was extremely poor. Our electric kept going off and we had to ask for it to be put back on again. No chair in the room. The accommodation was a little too far from doncaster for us. The hotel was hard too find as we were not looking for a college.disappointed that it was not possible to obtain an evening meal. All tables were booked to functions. disappointed that my request for breakfast on my second morning was not relayed from the person who took my money to the people running the dining room hence no food served on my second morning.Room had not been cleaned from previous mucky towels left in bathmugs unwashed. Just too much like a student study bedroom.Advertising failed to make it clear that accomodation is University campus/conference facilities. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense. It is student accommodation in an educational block. Consequently at night it was very isolated in the building with no night staff or reception desk. Not suitable for people with a nervous disposition. The reception staff gave wrong information about evening meals and missed a booking for 7 after saying it was closed. It was open .I was very disappointed that the service was poor the last two times that we stayed at the stables. There was no consideration for those of us who regularly ate at the stables, despite many emails and requests we were not allowed to eat in the stables. We stayed at the hotel as a group for 10 weekends and there was no customer loyalty acknowledged.I have stayed here a few times and on each occassion the television reception has been terrible, unwatchable. No tv, Kettle, radio working and I had to really push for a new room.Staff were not told of the move and so new room was not serviced. Noevening meal or breakfast at the Stables on offer.I did not have a cup and saucer in my room, the bathroom carpet was smellyand damp from the previous occupants stay(no bathmat). The other guestswere very noisy at 2am. We wanted a hotel that is what we expected the notice in our roomwelcomed us to the Doncaster College we stayed in halls of residence.
