Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The general ambience, lively without being excessively so. The very clean standards that were all around. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Size of room.Cleanliness.Staff.Friendly people, good food. the staff. Good food, very pleasant and professional staff, very nice room. As a gay couple we are sometimes less than impressed by the reception particularly at some smaller hotels. Not so here; everyone was very helpful and friendly. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and food was excellent. Good value for money.Excellent room! Friendly staff, small personnel Hotel, we had a very pleasant stay. Good value. Food excellent, value for money, staff friendly. Food was good, access good, close to activities in the Peaks District. Friendly staff ,clean and tidy room, value for money breakfast.rooms were clean and staff friendly and meals were excellent. Food, Room, Staff, Clenliness.Lovely large room. Window seat. Food was superb. considering the room was a luxury one, there were a few things ie. full length mirror, dressing robes larger television. Lovely room at back of Hotel over looking the park. We had dinner there and was really impressed with the meal and a dessert to die for. we wasent there long enough to give an opinion. Possibly the location, being a young couple- no nightlife in the area, you had to travel a distance, but we didn't go for a lively weekend, we wanted a nice relaxed break and we certainly had one.If possible the hotel should try to start breakfast earlier. We were up and about at 7am and breakfast is at 9am. Not too much of a problem because there is a fantastic park for children behind the hotel. Parking. Burglar alarm going off at 6.30am! Never mind!. Our room wasn't cleaned for 2 days.A little noisy at night (room above the bar). Cheap breakfast ingredients. No. A little confusing with no reception area. Such an excellent menu including plenty of fresh fish dishes that it was a shame that no fish dish was offered at breakfast. Difficult to open windows, and we were too hot at night; rather noisy outside our room in the night, but no idea if this was guests, staff or both. It would be nice to have a telephone in the room to contact reception if needed.Lack of actual reception area, if I hadn't read some of the reviews I wouldn't have known it was in the crowded bar. Breakfast a bit greasy. Not having a reception to check in at. Not aware prior to booking that hotel was a pub: some noise when trying to go to sleep!. Limited parking. same as above and the hotel was very noise at night up till about 1.30. room could have been warmer. Bathroom sink could have been bigger as bathroom was a good size. Small sink had large taps which made it hard to fill the kettle! Also mirror was too high for shorties like me! A lamp on the dressing table would have been useful. Some people may find the road a bit noisy, but with all that lovely fresh air and good food we slept like babies!. Nothing bad to say, this not a complaint, but if 'nit picking' would say, get the cleaner to notice things like inside the bathroom door, dirty hand marks, tooth paste splattered on wall, handbasin cleaning around plug/taps get them an old tooth brush to use, just tiny details...sorry I'm very critical, been there, done it, got the tea shirt.....no need to tell the cleaner of!!. Only thing it would be nice if it had an area to sit and drink when using the Bar, the Bar was full being used as part of the restaurant, so if you came back and fancied a drink or two befor going to bed, the best you could do was sit up at the bar, not ideal for a cosy chat. Small old style TV. no yogurts and poor selection of fruit at breakfasts. no croissants. The room was cold during early evening but we were staying on possibly one of the coldest days. Need to imrove attention to detail in the rooms cobweb and dust in bathroom, Breakfast needs improving the waiter on the day was disorganised but being really pickie I have worked in customer service for a lot of years so it is easy for me to find fault but these minor points aside a great hotel. how they lock the main doors and don't provide a key. we were locked out untill 2.30 am there was nobody on duty to let us in. we were attending a wedding at chatsworth and arrived back at the hotel at 12.10.

Here at the Whitworth Park we understand the importance of food and the dining experience. Andrew Whittaker and his team of chefs are proud to offer freshly prepared food, from traditional to more contemporary dishes to suit all tastes. 27 year old Andrew trained at a local catering college before starting his career at Willersley Castle in nearby Cromford. Following this he became a sous chef at The Druids in Birchover before moving south to Woburn Estate. Here he progressed from sous chef to head chef followed by executive chef, where he oversaw all the restaurants and their menus within the complex. Coming back to his roots, Andrew uses his vast chef experience to formulate menus to cater for an array of tastes and occasions. The Whitworth Park kitchen team are proud to offer a selection of dishes that give you the Whitworth Park dining experience.
