all reviews » The receptionish#t was very friendly. The hotel was close to Old Trafford Football Stadium and very close proximity to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities and strategic location is excellent. Had everything you needed, was clean and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. There was a bar availaible where internet could be accessed and if you wanted to relax without going to town. Good position, right in between the trafford centre and CC only 2.60 tram into town which takes 10 minutes and approx 2.60 return to trafford centre including shuttle bus. Parking facilities is always a good one, bar and friendly staff. Nearer to the Lowry than at first thought, only a 10 min walk away.Excellent welcome and service from reception staff. Good price. Room warm and bed comfortable. Value for money and friendly staff. Courteous, helpful staff. Superb value for money. If you are fussy about your room being 'modern' don't trouble these good people. If you are after a good spot to see Manchester it is the best value. Right next a metrolink. friendly staff, eager to help, clean and well maintained, overall good stay. the lady on reception was very kind to my daughter and very welcoming. I appreciate it is a difficult area to keep clean but the bath edge (where the tiles meet) and the window ledge were stained.A long wait for breakfast, but hotel was very busy (Man Utd match day). not much. the beds could do with updating, thought I'd slept on a door but hey its a hotel we only stayed 1 night and it was to our needs, very clean and all we expected for the price, would stay again. our room was very hot and i did not know how to turn down the heating. Plug socket for my kettle didnt work and the toilet didnt flush but not a big deal really. The lobby and room were tired and need a bit of tlc. The carpet in the room had seen better days. But it was reflected in the price. Access after hours. I smoke and when exiting the hotel for a cigarette after 10 it caused a problem. the water heater is not good. it was in need of refurbishment. the shower is not very good.it took a long time to warm up and was not very powerful. have marked cleaniliess of room down to fair because they did not clean the room one day, but other than that the hotel was clean. Hotel has major issues with plumbing and needs totasl refurbishment. Lack of hot water for shower/bath and no dinner facilities for 4 days. There was mould on the bathroom window sill, the shower head did not stay in position when it was in use and the door lock was faulty.Was a bit dated. The phone in the room kept going onto answerphone during the night for no reason at all and was very annoying.Strong unpleasant odour in room that seemed to come from sewer outside Bed Mattress very soft and lumpy . Room Furnishing very old and dated. The room smelt a little musty and the shower was unusable as the water was so hot that we could not stand under it so we had to use the bath instead.Lack of food being served on a Friday night. Not clear from web page. Running out of basic food items at breakfast. Although had double glazing, traffic noise was still loud and no hair dryer. The room was a little dated. Separate billing for bar/restaurant and room/breakfast.The rooms are slightly dated compared to other hotels of a similar price. Plus the television options would not suit a traveller who would be using the room all night and not going out.

Travelling information

1-From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 19, pick up the A556 signposted to Manchester. After a few miles, at the first big roundabout, take the M56 signposted to Manchester. Go as far as the M60 (two or three miles beyond Manchester Airport Junction) and take the M60 in a clockwise direction following signs towards Liverpool. Leave M60 at Junction 7 signposted to Stretford. See 3

2- From the North
From the M6 follow the M61 towards Manchester, as far as the M60 (Manchester Ring Motorway). Take the M60 in a anti-clockwise direction following signs towards Manchester Aiport and Stockport. Continue round to Junction 7 and exit the motorway here (signposted to Stretford). See 3

3- From Junction 7 to the hotel on leaving Junction 7 follow the A56 signposted to Manchester. After approx 1.5 miles look out for signs to Old Trafford Cricket Ground and bear right at these traffic lights. This is Talbot Road. After 0.5 miles or so Old Trafford Cricket Ground (Lancashire C.C.C) is to be seen on the right hand side. Less than 0.5 miles further on, on the same side of the road, stands the hotel as Talbot road strats to bend to the right.
