Very friendly staff, seem to go the extra mile particularly at the check in. the friendliness of the staff. As a budget priced hotel it's excellent full English breakfast beats national budget chains in this price range. Though its decor is date, this is more than compensated for by friendly and helpful staff as well as exceptionally clean rooms.Cheap BandB near the station and the centre of town -OK for a one night stay over. the staff were extremely helpful and plesant. It was quiet and handy to the bus and rail link 25/30 min journey to EMAirport. Generous breakfast and staff willing to order carry-out food and provide utensils.Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Room was a good size and quiet. Room was clean, recently decorated. Staff friendly and helpful.Close location to Prestwold Hall. Felt totaly at ease. clean and comfortable room. the staff were very friendly. the hotel was close to the town centre and train station. Staff were very friendly and helpful.comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff - quality of room. location and when there was actually staff on the reception they were very kind.. Room was comfortable and spacious, staff very friendly. price. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. Price, room comfortable.Friendly staff. Very clean room and fluffy towels. comfortable bed and good and plentiful breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Basic facilities but clean and within easy walking distance of the town. beds were good. Nice welcome, they advised me where to go and find great Fish and Chips!. Large room, comfortable bed. Staff cheerful. Nothing would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Cleaner was friendly!. They have specific problems as a result of the revamp they are doing, however, that said they do their very best to make everything ascomfortable as possible - I will certainly stay there again when in the area. TV reception in room was poor. heating could have been better but it was a very cold nght. the hotel decor was quite dated and in the process of a refurb. (but still very clean). It was impossible to have a shower. The carpet was not vacuumed. The heating went off during the night and had to be switched back on manually. Shower was too hot and was hard to control the temperature.hotel guests wernt allowed. the shower in our room didnt work, tv picture quality was poor. Shower in room was either too hot or too cold. the fact we had to wait ages outside in the cold and rain because no body was on reception to let us in !. When we booked in, mugs still had dregs from previous occupants, and bins hadn't been emptied. Room was not cleaned while we were there - bathroom wasn't cleaned, bins still not emptied, mugs not washed. Only a 2 night stay, but not good practise.Made me feel I couldn't recommend it to others. A shame, as everything else was good - staff particularly friendly. location (although this was clear from website). There was a problem with heating the bedrooms. The heating system was very poor. Very shabby. hotel in need of lots of work.No bar, shower in bathroom very hit or miss!. The shower did not work. The fire alarm went off for 5 minutes in themorning. We were promised disabled facilities but my friend in a wheelchair couldn't use the shower because it was at normal shower height andthere were no rails or bars which youwouild expect in a disabled roombathroom, luckily my friend can get around well so was ok. Also, thecorridor I was in smelled of cigarettes. The shower in my room was awful. Communal areas are depressing. Do to refurbishment, strong smell of paint everywhere.Poor breakfast, bathroom rather tatty. room was cold due to old windows, bathroom was as clean as can be but needs new grouting and seals, room resembled a bed-sit with fridge at the foot of the bed and kitchen units wall mounted above, tv too small and too far away from the bed. No bar or food facilities other than breakfast. In definite need of refurbishment. furniture and some equipment was worn out.the people that were staying there. Could not get any signal for mobile phone or internet. Reception staff were not available for check out.As a single woman on my own I did not feel very comfortable wandering around the hotel. I felt the picture on the website gave me a different impression of the hotel. I felt almost intimidated that reception staff were wearing security guard uniforms, the only redeeming factor was that you obviously felt that it was safe enough to utilise female staff on you reception at night. On Tv nothing to see as the cable didn't work, it was cold in the room, the shower didn't work, and the tips in the bathroom made an awfulnoise! Also, train station very close, so..........Entry system, breakfast, shower (v hot or v cold). Did not like it's location.Afternoon reception staff very blunt.Shower pathetic. Breakfast the worst dried up food I have ever had in a hotel, I did not appreciate the additional hair/plastic in the food and the "couln't care less" attitude of waitress when pointed out. Poor location. Very limited facilities and service. More like a hostel than a hotel. Not recommended for genuine travellers.
