We were pleased that this was not a country pub with accommodation, it was better than that. While the downstairs decor was pubish the rooms were exceptionally well setup. A very casual relaxed quiet stay in a very quiet village. The staff try very hard to make the stay enjoyable, and they succeed. Great breakfasts and the meal menu is variable and well cooked and presented. A very quaint place and an enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was excellent; as it's a pub, it was wonderful to have a drink and meal in the evening - really enjoyed it!. Excellent staff, who strike a perfect and often difficult balance between being friendly and relaxed while also being professional. Comfortable rooms and very good food. Would definitely visit again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. There was a good atmosphere. Good car park and the Wi-Fi worked fine. It is a quiet old world base for touring Cornwall. a lovely old pub with chique like bedrooms.there was a good choice of food from menu/specials and breakfast was superb. We would definitely stay here again and 100% recommend it. Excellent Customer service from staff who went out of their way to help you. Sunday roast was also top draw. The place was also quiet and relaxed. The spacious, airy room. The people of Lostwithiel were very friendly and made us feel most welcome. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable large bed. It had no in room safe .... Not a biggie!. Very little. The room we were first given was small and fairly basic. Okay perhaps for one night. However thanks to the helpful staff we were upgraded to one of their 2 'premiere' rooms (rooms 2 and 3) which were much better. No remote for the television; car-park a bit cramped if you arrive late -but nothing really to detract from staying. Having bedroom next to kitchen extractor fan so made room hot and a bit noisey. Lack of window privacy, no net curtains, windows looked into houses on opposite of the road. Due to staff shortages at the time of our stay, the restaurant suffered from delays and slight issues with certain aspects of our food. This would not put us off returning to this hotel again. And I'm sure this would not always be the case. Would have liked a change of menu durering our stay,. omelette at dinner poor with just a few salad leaves didn't match price charged. Electric shower went from cold to scalding hot - not fit for purpose Bathroom very small - it was only just possible to sit on the toilet as it was next to the bath Ate in the bar one evening and was presented with a deathly white uncooked pastry microwaved cow pie, which i sent back. It was returned having been out under the the grill. Poor. Lack of communication between staff.
