What people say
It was very quiet and our rooms were easily accessible. Staff were most helpful. The hotel is perfectly located being two minutes' walk from the major museums and Harrods, yet nice and quiet as it's at the end of the cul-de-sac. The hotel staff are very friendly. Our room was stunning, and the breakfast was spot on, with a great choice.Convenience and location of the hotel. Excellent rate for room incbreakfast. Breakfast was very good with wide choice of freshly cookedfood. Quiet tree lined location considering its central London. all reviews »
the morning paper and the close location to everything we wanted to visit. personalised serviceand comfy beds. The location in central Knightsbridge is excellent (and literally on 2 minutes away from Harrods). I was staying over for one night on a business trip and my partner came along for some shopping. The room was very clean, and decorated quite ornatelly. The rooms were very warm (it was -1 deg outside). Breakfast was excellent - cooked to order, and the fresh orange juice was delicious. Recommended!. Everyone was very polite and helpful and made our stay very welcome. Nice staff, good breakfast included, located in a nice area. The location and the good service was really commendable. Location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room, though small, was nicely furnished and very clean. Breakfast room was very intimate which makes a change from the usual "canteen" type areas, and the breakfast choice was excellent and very tasty. I particularily liked the helpfulness of the staff. Friendliness of small hotel. Friendly, homely, safe. visit art galleries. Location. Our time at the hotel was lovely The breakfast was fabulous and our room was very clean. I would definitely stay there again Well worth the money. All staff were very pleasant. The location was excellent and being on a cul-de-sac was quiet for central London.Nice, quiet hotel just of the main busy. Good facilities andgreat breakfast. /very comfortable stay with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast.Excellent location. The breakfast was OK. Location was great but it was quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet neighbourhood two blocks away from Harrods. Although the interior of the hotel was a bit worn, the effort of blending this into a understated shabby-chick design was successful. Complimentary hot drinks, bisquits and newspapers. Comfortable bed. Airconditon was working well cooling down the room quickly. Nice brekafast. how close it was to tube stations and the are. Room
Warmth of hotel
Good facilities for leaving packages on checking out. The position. The great breakfast. The quietness. The hotel is situated in an excellent position. the staff and breakfast. It is close to harrods. Very rude staff, very unhelpful. In a couple of places, wear and tear show, which add to the charm, but in one or two spots a small additional effort to remove signs of stains would go to keep a good image. Shame about the separate bathroom but I knew about this when I booked.Would have been nice to have a robe in the room though to get to thebathroom. No bar.I wish they provided tea and coffee facilities in the room, but it is still acceptable to have those at hand in the sitting room. Breakfast was not great. bathroom on different floor from bedroom. Room slightly cramped but we have experienced much worse in London. To be picky paintwork in the room was a little tired. Very small bathroom, too warm. Room was on back with noisy kitchen extractor. the bedroom and the bathroom were rather shabby and needed refurbishing. Except for one person, the staff was outstanding. They are, however, set in their ways. Guests conform to them.I felt the hotel looked very tired and needed some refinishings. I did not think that the lift was adequate and did not like the fact that I had to use it as my room was on the 5th floor -only a fire escape.I found the decor in my room very shabby and also soap dish in bathroom was broken and a danger when using the shower. The dining room was cold and also quite shabby - the website photos are obviously quite old. I would have liked tea/coffee making facilitiy. The bathroom would need a bit of tlc but all in good working order. Room a bit cramped and tired looking.shower. room tiny, some tiles in bathroom were broken, no coffee/tea fac in the room however this was compensated by compl.coffee/tea in reading room. My room N37. Bathroom on different floor therefore not local. Curtains in deplorable state. The hotel is old and the fixtures are quite old. The headboard on the bed fell off the wall one night. It was just held up on a small ledge. The bathroom is the tub and sink were stained. The shower didn't work very well. The room was very small but I understand that is pretty standard. The bathroom needed updating. My toilet did not work, so I had to use one in the hallway. No minibar. The view from my window was into a shabby backyard. No remote control to the TV.Lack of bar facilities
Poor service at breakfast
Attmept at doublinmg the room rate on checking out. Noisy staff in the kitchen at breakfast time. My single room needed a total refurbishment, The blind didn't work and the room above had very squeaky floorboards! Otherwise everything was very pleasant. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The shower head needed cleaning. The television did not work. The hotel needed a general updating on the decor and fittings. The room was not available for me to check in at 2 p.m. and this caused me some problems.it needs to be renovated, charged £1.50 for toothbrush and toothpaste, which tased like water sealant!. Bed clothes dirty, very very stuffy at night, bare wires hanging out broken plug on iron!! Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment, very shabby. Could not even see TV from bed. Would not come back. The bedroom window over looks the back and needs a light net cutain or blind so as the air can still flow in the room, it was a very hot evening I did not find the fan until the morning. The main curtains are very heavy! The cooked breakfast was vey disappointing - the bacon was cold the sauage over cooked and the fried eggs were hard. I advised them they did offer to cook another but I did not. The sheets were dirty, the bedroom was freezing and the bathroom boiling. I was left waiting to check out.
