My husband and I stayed at the South Place Hotel for a week's vacation. The hotel is in the heart of the business district, so it is a quieter neighborhood on the weekends, but bustling during the week. There are a number of nearby pubs, and a Marks & Spencer across the street if you require groceries. We enjoyed not being in the midst of thousands of tourists, but all of the London hot spots were easily accessible by a quick walk to the Tube. Many other attractions were available simply b.

Within 10 minutes walk from Liverpool station when figure out the way and actually another station Moorgate is just around the corner. With marks and spender just opposite to the hotel, it makes it more perfect! As can buy snacks / bottle water easily on our way back to hotel. :) - Staff: Great! My husband and I arrived hotel around 8 a.m after 12 hours flight, once arrived front desk tried the best to arrange . For my Girlfriend and myself, I booked ourselves a night in the South Place hotel, A modern and very well rated London hotel. It was the best booking and decision I have made ever. We could not have received any better service, with a personalised card waiting for us in our suite. Every aspect a memory to be had, a lovely bed, bathroom and amenities to share over the weekend. With access to Le Chiffre came great fun, with a games room combined with record player for all round entertainment in t. The staff is very meticulous and attentive, the breakfast in the room is a delight. Overall, my impression was excellent and I strongly recommend this luxurious and friendly hotel. Commented after a previous visit about noise and this had been picked up and we were given a room to try to ensure that we had a quiet night. It worked. So really well done for picking that up. Also commented on the lack of tea/coffee making facilities and these were provided for us (along with a little tray of fresh strawberries - very nice). The night we stayed, the hotel was fully booked yet the service we received throughout our stay was first class, almost as if we were the only guests. The hotel nd facilities are amazing. Modern nut without the usual arrogance. The rooms are lovely, sound proof and are very comfortable We were lucky enough to enjoy the supper club with Ravinda Bhogul which was amazing and seems to have caused quite a stir in the city (Jay Rayner and Stanley Tucci were there with us!). Fantastic stay, staff were excellent, even the room service manager popped in to see how things were going and we were provided with complimentary items throughout our stay. Apparently, the fire detection system is shared between the rooms and the restaurant's kitchen. Actually disturbing to be suddenly awaken by an ear-splitting alarm and a red flash above the bed!. The great impression created by giving us the tea/coffee was diminished a little by not replenishing the supply of tea bags - but at least we had a kettle. A really minor quibble though after the hotel had gone to the trouble of checking out the review (on this site) and linking it up with a subsequent visit. Nothing....This place is just THE place to stay in London!. Crazy mini bar prices - £3.50 for a bag of crisps etc.etc.! Better not to provide one and let people use the many local facilities very close to the hotel. No one likes to feel they're being ripped off as it undoes all the goodwill built up by the exceptional staff. None. We were on the 5th floor. There was party on the floor above us and we did have quite a bit of 'base boom' noise until around 1am. This annoyed my partner somewhat as he is well old but it made me want to go join the party!. The staff are well turned out, but a bit sterile and not the most approachable. The price of the room is fine (£170 for a double) and the food is reasonable given the quality but I found the add on's very expensive. Breakfast is £25pp which is the most expensive breakfast in a hotel of this price range I have ever seen. Also not to have tea and coffee in the room and having to pay £5 for tea seems a bit OTT. Nothing at all. For 5* (?) in central London, it has to be considered comparatively good value. But... the prices at the bar (and for breakfast) had us exiting to find more reasonable alternatives. Having lived in London for 3 years, Marylebone is my local hangout. I didn't quite like the area. It's the financial district so very quiet at night. Having said that, it's on the central line so it's nice and easy to get into Regent/Oxford Streets. No tea-making facilities in room - a real miss first thing on waking and last thing at night when you don't want the bother of room-service. The bedside touch panel was super but too bright during the night. The TV wouldn't turn off and we had to keep it on all night with the sound off'!. More "kids"friendly food options at their restaurants. As a one night stay, everything seemed to be well done, from design to staff training. Congrats to the people behind it all. No tea/coffee making facilities, a toaster but no plates or cutlery, no menu's for the restaurant, no local information in the room. Mini bar prices were extortionate, no information regarding room service, only 1 comfortable chair. nothing. There was nothing not to like. Will never stay anywhere else in London again. Savoy, eat your heart out... Was disappointed that we was unable to enjoy the roof terrace as there was a private function on the Saturday night and the bar on the 1st floor was shut. Also was there was stains on 1 of the bathrobe. Take in consideration that this hotel is 30 minutes away from the place we (foreigners) know as London. No stores or anything around. Rooms are a bit too small. We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the 4th floor - unfortunately the Friday night DJ was directly below us and continued until 2am Saturday morning. Even for London the mini bar prices were excessive. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Bizarrely we did have a two slot Dualit Toaster provided. Toasters in the rooms are quirky but kettles would be more useful! (kettle and quality teabags were provided immediately on request). Revellers making a roar in the hallways on Friday night (2 - 5 am). Pillows were on the soft side. I didn't like the fact that there wasn't a kettle. There was a toaster which I didn't expect but a kettle and a mug/cup would have been more use. No parking at the hotel, although NCP car park was 2 mins away but it was 40 pounds for 24hr. The staff and and guests alike looked down on us as we were a couple of students from Kent. We were made to feel very unwelcomed and we weren't even offered the full tour of the hotel. They also expected a £100 deposit from us without having alerted us beforehand. And as of writing this on Tuesday the 8th, we still haven't had the money back despite being told it would be back in the account just as quickly as it was snatched from us. Couldn't get access to the games room and didn't know how to go and use the spa as every time we went down to level 1 there was no one at the reception. There wasn't a lot of information given in the menu option on going about using the hotel and all it's facilities. Therefore I don't think we got our full use of your hotel. Shame, as we choose your hotel to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. Cold in the room even if AC on max. Received mineral water comp first night but not second. I maybe dindt read proprely term and condition , but paid the room in advance and did have to put a deposit of £100.00 , the money is take strait of your account andyou have to wait min 48 hours to having back , I thinks this not right?????. Room not ready on arrival at 5pm - had to be given an alternative Not everything arrived with the room service order - no extra coffee cup/ no toast - omelette was almost cold. Bar downstairs busy Bistro goodish value restaurant expensive. The loudest private party I've ever heard was going on on the roof on Saterday afternoon and evening, which made it impossible to be in the rooms or even in the restaurant on the ground floor. The hotel's message was clear: if we can make a few extra pounds by renting out our roof bar, then we couldn't care less about our guests and their comfort. It was atrocious and absurd.
