The hotle room was a very good size and very clean. The staff were very helpful. The room was exceptionally nice, cool decor and highly clean facilities. The location was great with unexpected views across Tower Hill/The Thames, rooms were clean, bright and modern. In addition the staff were very helpful and spoke clear English (which is not always the case now in many London hotels). Conveniently located; value for money; vey clean. The beds are a little fragile. Smoking room was given, despite ordering non-smoking,. If I have to be critical then I am afraid that the bed was not very comfortable as the pillows were like cushions and the mattress was a bit lumpy. Also the shower is only limited to 41 degrees C which I understand is probably an energy and environmental thing - but if somebody is paying to stay then they should have the option of a hot shower.In their effort to deliver comfort the bathroom was extended by a shower build into the room. This made the room feel very cramped. Toilet door could not be closed when using it. Elevator were not properly indicated. Staf in the restaurant and bar area was very slow and not motivated to serve!. Non smoking room not available. Hotel was undergoing renovations. There was only a small amount of disruption but it will be good when finished. a/c did not keep the room cool enough. theft of money from hotel room ( 20 pounds ). Carpet was damp when I arrived. This was because the shower cubicle drained into the room.Rooms need some refurnishment and for the room price, it should include breakfast. Hotel staff were very unfriendly and accused us of not notifying them that we were travelling with children despite there being comments to that effect on the booking. Allocated us 3 smoking rooms that reaked with smoke and were inappropriate for us given we had small children. Asked to be moved to non-smoking rooms and manager all but accused me of lying that the rooms smelled of smoke.

From London City Airport: A1020 and then A1261 towards Tower Hamlets. Follow the River Thames on Westferry Road (A1206). Take the Limehouse Link tunnel and the Highway (A1203) to Tower Hill.
From Waterloo Station: Take Waterloo Road, then turn right to Stamford Street and cross Blackfriars Bridge. On your right take Upper Thames Street (A3211) or Lower Thames Street to Tower Hill.
