The staff were excellent from the moment we arrived, they assisted in parking our car in the very small car park. The room although small was clean and the bathroom cleaner and of a higher standard than some bigger higher quality hotels. The breakfast had a good selection for a continental breakfast. The situation for attending a cricket match at the Oval could not have been improved. We will definately stay here again if visiting the Oval.

Rooms on the front have to accept noise from the street, even withwindows closed. Because of steep stairs on the front not easilyaccessible for elderly of disabled persons. In staircases some(finishing?) work still needs to be done (3rd floor and basement). Breakfast was a bit simple. Outside appearance of the hotel wasn't inviting.Very hot, small room. Neighborhood was iffy. there are quite a number of steps to walk up to get to the front door which is not the best thing to have to negotiate with a suitcase after a long journey. I count myself as reasonably able bodied so I can't imagine how others less able would cope.The english breakfast could have been better although I am aware that a continental breakfast is what you really offer. I found the hotel entrance, parking area, passages and eating area can do with a lot of attention.Difficult to stop and unload cases as its on a red route. Scruffy external appearance and rear parking area. Room size too small. The hotel was very over priced even for london. The outside need a goodtidy up the signs for to the breakfast room were a4 sheets stucl on thewall, I opted to eat at the train station!!. I do not believe it was a four star hotel, the outside was shabby and it had no facilities. The breakfast area and food was very disappointing. The bed was worn down. Their was not a thing, that was acceptable about this place.

By Train/ Underground: Take the Underground towards a station on the Northern Line, then head southbound towards Oval. From Heathrow Airport: The Heathrow Express stops at Paddington Station. From there take the Hammersmith and City Line of the Tube eastbound to Moorgate. Then take the Northern Line southbound to Oval. From Gatwick Airport: The Gatwick Express stops at Victoria. From there take the Victoria Line of the Tube southbound to Stockwell. Then take the Northern Line northbound to Oval.
