The Great Trethew Manor is set in 40 acres of beautiful grounds, featuring a trout fishing lake and croquet lawn. The traditional rooms boast period features and wonderful views. The elegant rooms are classically decorated with antique furniture and floral fabrics. Some feature four-poster beds and exposed beams, and all have en suite bathrooms and tea and coffee facilities. Free Wi-Fi is also accessible in each room. The on-site restaurant serves a creative menu and selection of exotic steaks, including zebra and bison. A children’s menu and afternoon teas are also available, and light lunches and bar snacks are served throughout the day. The wonderful grounds offer pony trekking and fishing, and there is also a spacious barbecue terrace. The cosy lounge bar features a log fire, oak beams and an original flag-stone floor. Free on-site parking is also available for guests. Surrounded by rural countryside, Great Trethew Manor is just 6 miles from historical Looe and its nearby sandy beaches. Plymouth‘s bustling town centre and ferry port can be reached in 30 minutes, and Dartmoor National Park is just 30 minutes’ drive.

That the staff was very helpful and easy to talk to and very helpful. it was very peacefull.it was our 3rd time there in the last year.Friendly staff and a comfortable traditional hotel. Staff were great, roaring log fire, very good food and a selection of local real ale all set in fantastic surroundings...what more do you need? A lovely stay, would highly recommend Great Trethew Manor.
all reviews » spacious, secluded, good value for money. The staff made our stay, nothing was too much trouble for them and the hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. The evening meal that we had was the nicest meal I've eaten in a long time - compliments to the chef. Helpfulness of staff. Setting. the hotel is a bit tired,but i like that.i liked the stepping back in time feel about the place.food top notch.proprietor and staff very friendly. A warm welcome. This hotel is set in a lovely location just inside Cornwall. North takes you to the moors and south to fantastic coastal towns and villages. The grounds of the hotel contain maintained features such as fishponds and walks planted with ornamental trees. The peacocks are fascinating and in keeping with the type of garden which the hotel maintains. Pleasant staff. Evening meal was ok, quite a good chioce on the menu. Good location, quiet and secluded. Good breakfast.Upgraded to S/C bungalow. Excellent breakfasts. Very nice setting and ambience. Pleasant staff and nice food. Location. Location. pony treking. Stayed in self-cater apartment - beds comfortable.The hotel is in a peaceful location apart from the Peacocks screeching day and night, and also offers some good forest walks. lovely setting and nice old place. double bed springing a bit crude and noisey. It was a little old fashioned but the friendly and helpful staff more than made up for that.Bit shabby. need to smarten the garden up,very tatty, moss growing on furniture and peacock s**t everywhere.There were a lot of people at breakfast and this seemed to put a strain on the service - one person was given the wrong breakfast and then wallked out saying he couldn't wait. I think that the carpets in the cottages make the cottages feel unnecessarily drab because the one we stayed in was a neat little unit and well enough laid out but poorly decorated on the ground floor in that it needed the fresher feel of new paint. We did stay right at the end of the season.Shower was too slow. A little neglected.Standard things in most hotels had to be asked for such as tv remote,hairdryer etc... Bathroom very small so not very easy to use. Cup and saucer dirty in room.The shower was very poor and the bar could be more spacious. Shower Curtain smell, TV very bad reception. tennis court not in use as advertised. Being woken up at 4.30am by the resident peacocks. Poor lighting. Glasses dirty. No hot water. Receptionist refused refund. The room was not as big as I expected and I believe advertising of the room was slightly mis-leading, we had a four poster room but having now stayed there I would think a standard room is far better value for money.the beds were 3 inches from the floor so that you did not bang your head on ceiling.cheap pine furniture in the room altho rest was real stuff., the outside areas were dirty and unkept such a shame. not as expected.

By Car - From the A38 Tamar Bridge, please follow signs for Liskeard. -You will approach a roundabout, 'Trerulefoot'. Take the 3rd junction for Liskeard and follow this road for about 3 miles. - Take a left-hand junction for Looe (the B3251) and the hotel is about 0.25 miles away on your left.
