We liked the hotel itself, it is very oldy worldy, the bed was lovely and comfortable, the bedroom itself was nice and spacious. Lovely open fire in the bar. The food was nice, but not what you'd call fine dining! The staff were friendly and did their best to assist us. Quaint building, sensitively updated. Well-maintained public areas. Good parking. Central location. It was convenient as there was little available in Leominster for a one night stay. In the town.

Everything was brilliant, I really liked the place and would definitely stay again. Good attempt to update an old country-town inn, things generally worked well. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Pleasant, old world atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly reception staff.Bar was good. Location was excellent as we love looking at antiques. There were many shops in the immediate locations so we had a great time viewing. It was clean and quiet. Bed and pillows comfortable and breakfast was not lacking. Staff were very helpful and gave good service. The location. Previously we stayed at the Swan and ate at the Talbot. That's why I wanted to stay as previous experience was good. Although the breakfast was hot, the sausage was not good quality. However the toast was nice but would have liked it served at the same time as the breakfast. Central for town. Character hotel with some nice areas for relaxing. Location. The breakfast. Problems parking, when we arrived due to the fact there was a market on and the locals were using hotel car park to avoid paying for it in town car park. the hotel could address this issue by having parking meter, people who are actually staying at the hotel could be reimbursed on checking out. The other issue is the noise coming from pub across the road till all hours in the morning, but this is not the hotels fault and I don't know what they can do to address this issue!!. Desk light would be useful. It was over-priced but would have been just acceptable if breakfast had been included. The Wi-Fi didn't work!. screaming and shouting as young people spilled out of pub opposite which went on until early hours. Ceilings are a bit low (but that can't be helped!) Too many fire doors and narrow passages to reach rooms. Problem with the car park being a pedestrian thoroughfare. Smokers sometimes pollute the atmosphere outside the entrance. wifi was a bit hit and miss inside the room. Noise from pub across the road was disturbing. Bar food not that good. Sheets didnt fit the bed properly. Lack of service in the breakfast area made it a poor experience. The staff were not able to keep up with the demand on Sunday morning. Rubbish bin under the breakfast table was overflowing. The hot water flask for Tea service was empty. We had to ask twice to have it filled. The coffee flask was empty. We had to ask for it to be refilled! Poor lighting in our bedroom (7). Management needs to be aware that there is a balance between low wattage use and making the room dark for the patrons!. Creeky flooring. Didn't like the fact that the manager was arguing in public with the owner of another establishment. That should have been done in a private. Not very professional. The hotel was very expensive for bed only. I didn't realise that breakfast was not included in the price when I booked and as all meals were expensive...We ate in the town instead. Pity really as this did put us off returning again. Hotel is a bit shabby and need of modernisation is some areas (our bathroom was definately in need)! Too expensive for mid-week stay. A bit pricey at £73 per nigh excluding breakfast. Room was adequate,shower could have bigger. The noise of the golfing guests staying at the hotel at the same time as us. Still running round at 4 a.m. The fact that we were kept awake part of the night by people on the street outside the hotel - not the hotel's fault but still very tiring!. The room was cold radiator didn't work. Replaced with one that became very hot (H&S) and made the room hazy and my throat sore. Kettle faulty. Headboard loose. Shower very low pressure. I would not have paid full price for it. Headboard on bed was dirty- had greasy marks where people had leaned against it. Bedroom ceiling looked like it was about to collapse. Walls paper thin - could hear everything in neighbouring bedrooms. Food poor- in fact one of our party had diarrhoea and sickness- could have been the food- some was left as inedible. Also reduction for single occupancy was very small and no reduction for first night as I had booked on-line- would not book on-line in future. Poor service, not good value - overpriced one might say. Poor food and worst nights sleep I've had. Decor old & tired. Food in the restaurant in the evening was awful and there was zero atmosphere need a lick of paint and more customers.

The Best Western Talbot Hotel is at the centre of Leominster on the "Iron Cross". This was once a focal point for hangings, the most notable being that of Roger Cadwallader, a Roman Catholic priest hanged in 1610.

Today, this is a hotel offering traditional hospitality and a range of banqueting and meeting facilities. The Talbot is a popular location for wedding receptions.
