The owners of The Swan Inn could not have made us feel more welcome and were so acommodating with mealtimes for our 17mth old. The room was comfortable and perfect size for us and had a little private garden for us to sit and for our toddler to run about. The evening meal was lovely and plentiful and the locals made us feel so welcome. Would highly recommend this little gem B&B if you are looking for friendly and welcoming and want a nice countryside location. all reviews »
Had a very tiring day, had to call the inn to get directions as we were having trouble finding it, someone talked us there over the phone, when we finally arrived, we were greeted , with smiles and jokes, our room was clean and comfortable, as it was late when we arrived , the owner made us meals, everything was very good . loved this inn, so freindly, and inviting. Thank- you for making, a long day, end on such a good note.
We stayed 2 nights as we had travelled down for a family wedding. The pub and rooms are beautiful, we ate an evening meal and two breakfasts, all were served piping hot and with great presentation. The rooms being in a seperate block were lovely and the private garden a welcome retreat. We were made so welcome and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. They organised taxis to the wedding and were just great.
Very handy quiet village location, proprietors were very friendly and welcoming, other customers equally so! Good selection of well-kept real-ales, really good food of ample proportions, great breakfast, very good value for money. We felt that we had made friends, and they were interested in us, as customers.
Friendly hosts, excellent breakfasts and friendly locals in the pub. Most people that we met were helpful with good advice on where to visit in the area, which was good as as this was our first visit to Suffolk.
The landlord and landlady were very welcoming, friendly and attentive although I was the only overnight guest. Food was wholesome with large portions, although there was no fruit on offer for breakfast.
The place around is beautiful plenty of sites to see. Close to towns. We went to see family in Sudbury. We will be going back again. Lovely area of the country.
Excellent food (evening meal and breakfast), a well kept pint of beer, the hospitality extended by the landlord and landlady and the friendly pub regulars.
was made most welcome on arrival and made to feel special by landlord and landlady food good, comfortable bed, all round would use again.
The owner was very friendly and helpfull. food was very good. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lovely setting and building.
The owners made us very welcome the food was excellent the accommodation was also excellent. We would definitely stay again.
Very friendly welcome, owner engaged in conversation. Room was clean, tidy and very cosy/comfortable. Perfect for our needs.
The rooms were separate units and I even had a little garden through patio doors as well as a front door.
Food excellent, local suppliers used and everything freshly cooked. Staff very friendly and obliging.
Simple but comfortable chalet style accommodation. First class English breakfast and a genial host.
We had a lovely welcome from Ray and Pam. Food was lovely and plentiful! Room cosy and clean.
Good location. Room was warm and cosy and well decorated.

Service, Friendliness, Food.
Friendly and good ambience.
Friendliness of the staff.
Made us feel very welcome.
quiet relaxing venue.
everything.
Liked the fact the rooms were in a seperate building right next to the pub. Was like a mini studio flat the patio doors leading to our own garden was great and hosts were lovely funny and friendly.
Good price. Breakfast was excellent. Efficient heater. Friendly owners.
Nothing.
The only slightly downside to our room was lack of shelf space in the bathroom which would only be a serious issue if staying longer than a weekend!.
If I had to be critical, I would say some items in the bedroom were a bit dusty.
Lack of information in the room. There was a folder which was empty.
No mobile phone connection; the room was in a separate block adjacent to the pub, but nearer the road so there was considerable noise from first light; the bedroom was comfortable, but th bathroom a little spartan.
Nothing in particular.
Nothing.
None.
Nothing, we would definitely recommend to a friend.
Nothing really.
Shower room a little dated and needed a table or shelf for toiletries. (a very small negative!).
Pillows could be more substantial.
There was nothing we didn't like.
The location was perfect for our needs but it maybe too rural for some people depending on the purpose of your trip.
The water heater for the hand basin was ineffective and sprayed water everywhere.
No hash brown with the fried breakfast.
dirty extractor fan in shower room.
Fault with heating system.
all ok.
leaving.
Car noise but wasn't too bad. Would have liked a menu with prices to look at for the pub food.
Lack of shelf in bathroom (which was a wet room) therefore there was no
where to put anything and all our toiletries got wet on the floor. No
table between the twin beds - one of us had to put everything on the
floor. Shaver socket and light not working.
It is not in Lavenham but four miles away. Had to waken the owner at 3pm to check in. The room was poor, shower did not exist, water ran into a drain on the floor. Heath and safety !!!!????. No food until the pub opened much later . We left and booked into the proper Swan in Lavenham.
