everything,from the warm welcome,taking care of our bags,being close to town,lovely room,nice and clean, comfy beds,brilliant breakfast,and secure place to keep our luggage so we could squeeze every last minute out of our holiday,and only five minute walk from railway station, and only a few feet away from the entrance to the medieval walls....altogether a brilliant place, a added bonus we loved was all the fun plaques outside each bedroom,it brought history alive.

Blown away by the plush, stylish apartment. We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV)
Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum.
The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :)

We stayed in the riverside Merchant Exchange apartment and the location was brilliant, just a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants & tourist attractions. The bed linen and towels are lovely, very luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is close to the city centre, around a 10- 15 minute scenic walk. There are restaurants and a supermarket very nearby. Walking distance to the train if minimal, easy to manage luggage. Staff were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel, it is very beautiful.

This is the most beautiful guest house i have ever stayed in. Darren the owner was so welcoming and his home is amazingly clean and pristine. We stayed for my husbands 40th birthday and couldnt have found anywhere better. The bedroom was very warm and cosy with views out over york, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom well appointed. Although I have ticked city trip, because that is what we did in York, The Lamb & Lion comes under a different description. It has lots of character. We stayed in the Attic, it was beautiful. Really comfortable. Brilliant being in the middle of York, parked in Marygate carpark and didn't go back until we left. Staff lovely, left the phone charger in the room when we left, Manager posted it back to me next day, no problem. Breakfast delightful. Would definitely go back.
