It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York. It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.   very welcoming, unfortunately, due to snow we had to leave early and we were given a discount due to this. We were expecting to pay full price, so this was a very nice gesture. - very good breakfast and friend staff.

  Well appointed rooms every thing you would need. Plenty of tea coffee etc. Breakfast was fab good selection of cereal fresh fruit even mince pies and bottled water. Followed by full English and any amount of toast.location was spot on a nice 15 minute walk along the river to the center of York. Would defiantly stay again. - Arrived late and negle... what people say » cted to call to advise. Landlord was called and was pleasant and helpful despite the late hour. Earlier that day he kindly gave my friend who had travelled by car a lift into town. Lovely spacious, comfortable room and well supplied with toiletries. Good breakfast, freshly cooked to order.

  Had a great stay at Burswood Guest House, the attention to detail was first class, down to dressing gowns, slippers, chocolates and real napkins (not the usual paper serviettes) The breakfast was excellent a great selection of fruit and a lovelly cooked breakfast. There was a bus stop nearby which took the strain of parking in the city centre away... what people say » and a great pub nearby. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, George and Maureen, they ensured we had a comfortable stay. - What a fantastic place to stay! This was a two night treat weekend at the races for my father in law and did he get a treat, as we did also! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was better than most top business hotels I have stayed in across Europe. The attention to detail in the bedrooms and the dining room was fantastic. George the owner is a lovely guy and the service is second to none.
