What people say
I liked this hotel, Highland standards can be poor compared with big town hotels, but this one is very good, excellant by highland standards. Situation on the main street is good, with good parking. Room was comfortable and clean with a good shower (unusual in the highlands) Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was first class. I didnt use the restaurant, but had a meal in the bar, food was good and the locals very friendly. I travel the highlands a lot, I will use this hote. all reviews »
Maggie was a tremendous help to us in lining up alternate transportation
when our tour company cancelled our tour. She let us leave luggage at
the hotel while did a bus tour before catching the train back to
Inverness. I will happily stay here again!.
The people. Lots of locals hanging out in hotel bar, and they were much
more friendly than what we've experienced in last 5-weeks in Wales
and England. We've been told the further north you go, the
friendlier people are. We have found it to be rue.
Very comfortable,un pretentious, hotel in an ideal location and with a cosy ambience, good facilities, good food and a great staff;
"Hello to Dave, Kila, Jacqui and Claudia" .Also those at the front desk - sorry, we did not get all your names.
Nice welcome, lovely breakfasts cooked to order. Bar acts as the 'local' and there's great, good value service. Wifi was available but you had to sit in the right place to get it.. Free and accessible car park round the back was very welcome.
Traditional Scottish hotel in popular tourist location. Good bar meals. Plenty of space in single room with bath and over-head shower in up to date en-suite. Good breakfasts with a lot of choice. Friendly staff. Good value.
Good value for money. I was very happy with the price at a bank Holiday. Close to Skye and staying on the island is quite expensive. A couple of good eating places nearby. Breakfast good and pleasant staff. Good car parking.
Your questionnaire needs to be modified. I have filled in several as a single traveller, however I was travelling with my adult daughter & we had separate single rooms. You need to add another option to tick.
The staff were very helpful, the food was standard but well prepared and presented. Rooms were clean. Our room was comfortable and quiet. All in all, a good choice for our overnight stay in Kyle of Lochalsh.
Everything! Staff is fantastic,
food was good and the rooms
clean and in good shape. The
hotel is close to everything in
town and a great jump-off spot
for the Isle of Skye and the Kyle
train to Inverness.
Staff were very friendly, responded helpfully to the notes I made when booking, and the breakfast was superb.
My bedroom was piping hot, which was most welcome when it was very frosty outside!.
We liked everything about the Kyle of Lockalsh. Beautiful countryside, will most probably go again for longer next time.
The staff at our hotel were friendley and curteous.
Great location, just a few minutes from the railway station. Also the breakfast was very good, there was a good choice of options. The room was comfortable and clean.
The food was excellent,as was the service. The staff were very helpful in helping us plan our weekend.I loved the very friendly bar.
The dining room staff were over the top with their hospitality. Congratulations!!!!!
The rooms were up to scratch!!!!.
Really loved the hotel's location. Very helpful staff and delicious food. Fantastic pub to chill out in the evening.
A very calming experience, having had A hectic week in highlands. good food, comfortable room, helpful staff.
Great location as the gateway to skye. Superb food and breakfast. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
All the staff were really friendly especially the lady and gentleman that waited on us at breakfast.
Food was very good, staff were extremely friendly and chatty, location
is first class.
Staff was really helpful, they even changed our twin room to double at the checkin.
we thought the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
excellent breakfast.
Position ideal for Isle of Skye visit
Rooms comfortable. Excellent restaurant.
Quaint old country pub with friendly service. Nice and peaceful and relaxing.
Small, friendly and homely hotel.
Excellent choice at breakfast.

The location was vey good and the staff were very friendly.

Friendliness of the staff-nothing too much trouble.
Convenient for station.

Service at reception was excellent, even downloaded future flight tickets for me. Restaurant staff also excellent.
Location is close to port and short drive to bridge to Isle of Skye.
It was exactly what we expected given other reviews and much cheaper than other accommodation in the area. Breakfast was ok, room was comfortable and the location was handy.
Very clean and staff very nice and helpful. Car park had entrance onto bedroom corridors which made it easy for carrying in cases.
Easy access to car as our room was on the same floor as doorway to carpark.
Centrally located to Isle of Skye and facilities.
Very near Skye Bridge. Parking no problem Good food, served competently. Water always very hot.
The staff were excellent nothing was to much bother very friendly a credit to your origination.
Cant say I cared for the TV much, my laptop screen is bigger, thats all I could find to moan about...
Reviews we read on Booking. Com: Some were pretty scathing. Either the
hotel has improved or they were written by some crabby travelers. It
looks to me like this hotel is trying really hard to please. Rooms are
old but so is the building. Lots of little details added to make it
pleasant. Wonderful variety of breakfast and very accomodating in what
hot items you want cooked to order. Beautiful service.
There was nothing we did not like.
Competition between the TV, snooker table and juke box in the bar - the bar in the quiet lounge area was never open. Not much sound insulation between bedrooms - so much of what was going on around you was audible.
All OK except for pronounced 'hum' on TV reception - may not be unavoidable given location.
TV was very small and only a few channels but you don't go up that part of the world to watch TV I suppose.
Not intended as a strong criticism, but our room didn't have a sea view, or any other view of note. The hotel location is very much part of the main street in the town.
Nothing. Each day was unique
and people were committed to making our stay effortless on
our part.

This hotel was over priced for the facilities provided it was the most expensive throughout the UK and Ireland that we stayed at. They also took a half price deposit, before occupation prior, to leaving home country.
can'T think of anything.
slightly expensive but still had a great stay.
The walls were a bit thin between the bedrooms and the corridor.
The outside would benefit from a lick of paint and a bit of weed
control.
The room 28 was on the ground floor and we could hear the footsteps of people on top of our room, could not sleep at all. Maybe that is only the ground floor or our room but I would ask for 1st floor.
we could not complain about anything. would recommend it.
Staff, whilst very pleasant and hard working, having to do too much whilst serving breakfast.
Walls very thin, every sound could be heard.Hotel could do with updating it's decor.
no single rate while I was there.
Nothing to do with the hotel but when I booked through you I did indicate I would like an evening meal on arrival after 8.30
This was not available. Fortunately there was a fish and chip shop close by and the hotel allowed me to eat my meal in their lounge.
no top sheet under the duvet.
There were a lot of stairs.
No bedside light.
No real complaints.

Price.
Rooms very ordinary and based on stays for a week throughout the Highlands very overpriced.
Internet only available in common areas not your room, the hotel is old and could do with a makeover, the walls are thin and you can hear others at night and in the morning.
Very expensive for a basic small room. However all accomodation near Skye was expensive. View onto roofs. Noisy at night and morning as you could hear people on corridors.
Staff alittle overfriendly - sitting down & talking to us whilst we were in dining room.Access to room was a little off putting from the main reception area as had to go through function room to reach stairway.Rooms could do with updating (compared to other places we stayed on our trip to Scotland) Would not recommend unless updated.
Shower cubicle only just big enough. Room was on small side. Furniture somewhat tired but bed was comfortable.
Poor wifi connection only worked in certain points. I was in room 28 the tv was in poor condition. No sky tv in the lounge and conservatory or bedrooms.
