  I have been visiting Orkney for the past 18 years and stayed in most of the hotels in Kirkwall, but for the past few years I have chosen the Ayre. Although Orkney is like going back in time - but only in a good way - this hotel offers very comfortable and spacious modern rooms and fine dining, using local produce which is always good.
