The hotel standards are very high, and very pleased with the staff and the high standard of service.we receiveed, we thought that when Malcome and the Lady retired from the dining hall the standard might not be has good, however you must train new recruites very well as the young staff you now have are just has good, Compliments to the training you give these staff. all reviews » We just wanted accomodation for one night in the locality and we could not have asked for a better choice. The cost compared favourably with an overnight travel lodge but the service received far surpassed what we would have experienced had we used one.my stay at the hotel was very comfortable and as i had never being in the hotel before i found it very welcoming with the openness of the foyer and the lighting it made the whole place very inviting and comfortable. beautiful hotel highly recommended, friendly staff excellent service rooms emmaculate, food a bit pricey, but well worth it, can,t say anything wrong about this hotel.I was very happy with the hotel it was a joy to stay in I would definately recommend staying here. location-easy access to motorway and local towns - pleasant staff -good service and food. The breakfast presentation was very awkward. If there was a queue of people waiting to help themselves as they do in a self-service cafe, the breakfast was cold when arriving back at the table. Also there was nowhere to put the lids, the food had obviously been "sat" on the counter awhile. It was a good week-end spoilt by poor breakfast service!. A couple of light bulbs not working, but nothing major.The beds are a rather too hard for our liking. The curtains not being properly hung let the room down a bit. A bit more soundproofing of bedrooms would be appreciated. However I imagine thia may be pretty imposs. at this stage. A very mild complaint. I thought one of the female receptionists was too 'bossy'; we receivedinstructions rather than a warm welcome n arrival. However, receptionwas efficient. Food on the evening was average.the duvet was too thin and although the room temperature was fine, I was cold. I had 2 early starts (4am), there was no hot water and had to take a cold shower on both mornings.Bathroom fan seemed to have a fault and was extremely loud, I am sure this must have disturbed the next rooms occupants.Carpet upon entry to the room was worn down to the fibres.The toilet was difficult to flush, and didn't really flush properly :-(. Normal hotel prices for beer and drink, quite expensive.Room was cold on Arrival. No heating on in room and it was very cold. had to leave room while it warmed up, Not satisfactory. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy.Felt like someone was knocking on our door everytime other guests shut theirs.Could do with a small fridge in the room for cold water as it was very hot inspite of opening the windows and using the table fan.Nothing to dislike. Bed was old and very uncomfortable. Internet was not free.morning paper not delivered - this is the second time this has happened atthis hotel. Only one towel in room (2 people). Bed was very hard.We stayed over the Easter period. We booked the hotel specifically because it had a swimming pool. Unfortunately the pool didn't open until 10am on Easter Sunday morning and check out time was 11am - thus leaving little time to enjoy the facilities. The service in the restaurant. We had dinner, the steaks were not cooked to our satisfaction and the waiter(ess) service was poor. We waited 35 minutes for our starter -a soup and a dish of asparagus , to be brought to the table - we think this was unacceptable.
