Nice location, easy to find, reasonable bar meal menu, cosy bar area, good breakfast choice (and plentiful). Room was clean and tidy, although furniture dated and in serious need of updating. Bathroom area spacious and clean. Hotel provides free wifi (good as mobile signal quite weak). We where at the Ffolkes Arms after attending a family funeral.We had stayed here before,on this visit we found the place was as comfortable as previous visits and that the rooms had been re-decorated and where very clean etc,.The breakfast was excellent it set us up for the day.
all reviews » The Staff were very nice and friendly and helpful and the room I stayed in was A OK. The first night stay was washed down with a lovely tasting barbecue chicken meal and the desert cheese cake was lovely just like the lady who served me :O). Good value for one night after a visit to Houghton Hall , had a triple room which was fine with good sized bathroom. Had long journey from Salisbury so also ate there in the evening and meal more than adequate, breakfast good too. 3 x single bed family room Full English breakfast included in room price - great bacon, fast service! 3 x Hot chocolate/tea/coffee in room Well-located base for touring Great value Friendly welcome Wide choice of good pub food. The location is good. We can travel around Norfolk by staying here. There are many places to visit by driving within less than an hour. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast staff appeared stressed out. room was very hot at night even with the ceiling fan at full speed and windows open requires a method of shielding front of room from the hot afternoon and evening sun. Nothing. the restaurant was a bit expensive for what it offered. The cabin like bedrooms are perfectly OK but a bit charmless. There is nothing to dislike !. The bathroom was a little tired and need some attention. Proximity to a busy road. Room decor indifferent but this doesn't matter to us as everything in the room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant serves "pub grub" only. Game and steak & kidney pies came with a covering of dough like a chaparti. Vegitables overcooked and tired. 2nd night had fish and chips which was better. No shelf in shower for soap, shampoo etc. Just outside room 201 there is an unmarked 18 inch drop, could be a hazard at night. would be nice to have A soap dish in shower. Not a problem personally but rooms closest to road would be noisy. the evening meal wasn't good. I didn't like the plastic sheet attached to the mattress to protect it. It was uncomfortable, hard. stuck to you and made you hot. It made it very difficult to sleep. Room was good but bed was a little hard for our liking. a little noisey,not problem to me but friends asked to be moved. Bedrooms, although comfortable, were in a block separate from the main hotel, it felt a bit like staying in Butlins. Bedroom décor very dated. The generator was a bit noisy. It was fine - nothing I did not like. The tv recepetion was not good at all. Not keen on walk to main building. Pane of glass in room door cracked- not surprised as difficulty getting it open- door warped- I needed help to shove open. Mattress & pillow a little too firm for me. no problems. Beds could have been bit more comfy. Mattress to hard for my wife but fine for me. Surprised with their policy of no shampoo in the bathroom. N/A. no shower gel and tissues in the room and tv was a bit small.
