Lovely details in room such as flat screen tv, fair trade tea and coffee, heated towel rail and luxury toileteries. Breakfast was delicious and good value. Exellent position with good views. Very friendly staff. The staff were so friendly, and when I ordered room service they sent some doggy biscuits up for my puppy too. It was really well decorated and the facilities were great.all reviews »
The location is great: at the sea front, not to far rom the city centre. The room was clean and the staff is always willing to help. I cannot fault the hotel. It was a very pleasant and comfortable experience and would certainly return on another occasion.clean, light and spacy room, with a nice view to the beach; nice, polite staff; good confort and value for money, thank you. The Closeness to all parts of Hastings and a lovely seaview. I reseption staff were most helpful and polite.Great traditional British hospitality with excellent service. A lovely hotel, well priced. Caring staff. Very well appointed rooms, good food, and really excellent service across the board. Great location. They provide room service at no additional charge. This was great for breakfast. Food was excellent, lovely staff, room had everything we needed. Dog friendly Helpful staff great room Nice management. Friendly staff, cleanliness of rooms, presentation of hotel and efficency of all staff especially the manageress.frendly and welcoming staff, clean and tidy rooms and the location for the beach and the old town of Hastings. Bright, airy room - spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and excellent facilities.Bathroom was newly remodeled. Great ocean view. Clean, modern room. Cafe was good!. The friendly members of staff. Friendly hotel food excellent. Absolutely fantastic hotel for view, breakfast superb (best sausages ever !!!), staff very helpful and friendly, would definately recommend if my best mate asked, coridoors very small but who stays in a coridoor ?. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Any small niggles were dealt with quickly and efficiently and the room was comfortable.Lovely room and en-suite, friendly and very helpful staff, no smoking bar terrace. Exceptionally friendly staff, very comfortable bed.Went to see Frankie Boyle at the theatre. The bed, bathroom, food (both price and quality) and people, nice touches in room like nice toiletries, plenty of towels, biscuits, bottled water. Room faced the sea , beautiful The rooms were very clean and well kept. front desk staff very helpful and friendly. the room was comfortable and clean very relaxing. The sea view and it's proximity to the theatre. The bedroom was uncluttered, yet had everything we needed - including plenty of 'fair trade' tea, coffee, etc (no need to ration your hot drinks here). The bathroom had a window, vast quantities of hot water and high quality toiletries. Both rooms were spotless. Breakfast isn't included in the price; you choose your own menu and pay for what you eat - a fair system. Very dog friendly.size of room, staff were fun and helpfull. helpful staff. Good location, very nice large airy bright room with lovely view of the sea and the pier. Very friendly reception greeting and staff were all very happy and helpfull. The hotel was clean staff were pleasant, bar and food prices were good. Good location and great view.Excellent atmosphere. good location. The room - newly refurbished. Fridge with water. The sea view. Choice of breakfast (and paying for what you want). good value breakfasts/food/drinks - comfy bed - nice bathroom - close to sea front. The location, it is right on the beach front. The room was also nice. Good, friendly staff.Room was tidy and clean. Breakfast. Refurbished room with flat screen tv and nice touches such as wine glasses and bottle opener. Great view. Great breakfast. room was clean and fresh looking, bed lovely and comfy. The bathroom. I would have prefered the traditional set up for breakfast rather than ordering items separately from the menu. However this did not impact on the cost. There was a limited range of hot meals on the menu. Nothing to dislike just one little niggle,.As I tend to sleep late, I would have liked a 'do not disturb' sign to hang on the door. Apart from that.....the restaurant needs some refurbishment. The lift was very small. Nothing. only the noise from the front of the hotel ( cars etc) not a big problem though.cafe menu was limited but food was good. Stairs are a bit steep. The television was mounted flat on a wall out of the line of sight from the room furniture and the reception on one evening rendered it unwatchable. The bar and eating area could do with updating. Room was far too hot even with the air conditioning unit on. Opened the windiw but on a main. No, everything was very clean, staff helpful and friendly and a one of the best hotels we have stayed in.Value for money, would stay there again.Corridors and some of the decor was a little dated but it was obvious that this is being worked on. First impression was a little 'eccentric', but came to like it very much and felt very mich at home. Would definitely stay again. I felt the tables could have been laid for breakfast but minner point. quality of food was poor waiting time for simple snacks was long at one point we were going to walk out , did find the hotel a bit noisy ie creaking floors could hear noise from above but since id read reviews about noise wasnt too surprised . Hotel room was too warm. as above. banging of landing doors during the night. The room was too warm for us at night, and the road was a little too noisy in the late evening to have the window open for long. However, the room had a portable air conditioner. On-site parking is limited, but there's plenty of pay'n'display parking within feet of the hotel. My laziness on our final morning resulted in a parking fine because I didn't reach the meter in time - my fault entirely. no option to re-use towels. rather stained carpet. needs updating rooms are a bit tired although some rooms /areas have been refurbished. The common areas are rather shabby. The road along the front is noisy.corridors narrow - a bit of a trek to get to our room on the top floor - creaky floor boards in room - but no major gripes. I had reservations when we arrived as the outside looks rundown and dirty. However this is not reflected in the interior, which was modern and clean. It could definately do with a lick of paint. Also if you stay here get a sea view. Our view was of the carpark. And people could see straight in.Very hot rooms on the 3rd floor. If you opened a window overlookingseafront, very noisy. Hotel is in transition of updating; will probablybe a lot better when finished. There was nowhere including the open terrace where you could smoke.Choise of evening meals, room size. Seaview room hot and rather noisy at night as it faced the road.access from car park. Lack of tea making facilities in room. The Hotel was half way through a redecoration and the corridors were dark and untidy which gave a bad first impression, not sure that the place lived up to its 4 star billing although the room was spacious and modern. Very hot room prevented sleeping - coukdn't open window becaujse of traffic noise outside.

Information about the area
The White Rock Hotel is situated on the bustling seafront close to the centre of Hastings and directly opposite the town’s shingle beach and Victorian pier (closed). The many attractions of this lively and historic town are just a short walk away, from the cobbled streets of the Old Town to the historic fishing port and from the Norman castle to the traditional delights of an English seaside resort.
The jewel in Hastings’ crown is the Old Town, which is almost architecturally unchanged from the days when smugglers plied their trade here. Today, the cobbled streets and picturesque buildings are home to a host of fascinating antique and craft shops and art galleries, as well as atmospheric and quirky pubs, bars and restaurants, ranging from the traditional to the ultramodern and stylish. For a change of pace, you can take the East Hill lift, the UK’s steepest funicular railway, from the bustling Old Town to the peace and beauty of Hastings Country Park on the cliffs above.
Hastings has long been a thriving fishing port, and today has the largest fleet of beach-launched boats in Europe, which are still operating in the traditional way. On the fishing beach, near the Old Town, you can see the fishing fleet and the unique net huts, visit the Shipwreck Heritage centre, and sample some of the freshest fish you will ever eat, in one of the many pubs and restaurants nearby.
Along the seafront, you will find all the fun activities of a seaside resort, from crazy golf to fairground rides, along with some more unexpected treats, like the Smugglers Adventure tour of the spooky St Clement’s Caves.
The hotel’s location means it is not only within easy reach of many of Hastings’ attractions, but also those of the Sussex countryside and England's south coast.
