What people say
The Inn was very cosy with lovely log fires. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant on the Friday when we arrived and the staff were very friendly and gave us everything we asked for. It was nice to be able to walk to our room which felt like a small apartment and was nice and quiet. Staff very friendly excellent customer service, great experience, even brought my dessert to the room so I wouldn't miss the football. Cannot fault the hotel and will definately recommend to others and will stay again.all reviews »

Cosy and warm. The restaurant had wonderful log fires. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the atmosphere in the dining room - the attentiveness level of the staff and the personal service received. The size of the rooma and the quality of the services. The food was also excellent. Excellent room, very comfortable bed and a big tv.... just like home !!!. Can't fault the room or the staff. Excellent. The rooms, food and very helpful staff. Good sized and well equiped room. everything was superb. peace and quiet. Although only recently the Manager had to leave quickly, the one broght in from Brighton as a temp was good and so toom were the new staff who coped extremely well under the circumstances. There was only minor irritations re our room that we told to the temp. Manager. Please pass on to the owners our compliments to all the staff including the Chef on what must have been a trying time.It was absolutely perfect in every respect for the weekend we intended it to be. Good location. The whole stay/experience was most enjoyable. We would certainly return and recommend the hotel to others. The hotel was really great... great view and great room especially! It was a pleasure to stay!. A beautiful, splotlessy clean and very spacious room in a peaceful setting. the room was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. The peacefulness plus the helpful staff. Cleanliness/spacious room. Good location, quiet and convenient. Good first impression, confirmed by the cleanliness of the room itself, style and presentation overall. Good size room, clean and fresh with nice big comfortable bed. Excellent full english breakfast cooked to order.lovely cosy room, good size, nice bathroom, fantastic bed, great breakfast, friendly staff. Pleasant staff, good food and excellent accommodation. Lovely room. pleasant staff, fresh cooked breakfast and quality of room. The staff were particularly friendly and accomodating. Big clean room. Fantastic food and good service. The friendly staff. Friendly staff and owner. Good chef and menu. Reasonable value drinks. Good to be able to eat a fine meal without having to drive afterwards.the hotel and room was very comfortable and clean. Overall I would use this hotel again and reccomend to friends. This is a charming inn with a really nice restaurant and amenities. The position -- Parking -- The Layout --. Location. The setting and garden. The room was very nice, but certain touches would have helped such as a hook behind the bathroom door, a soap dish on the shower, a grab handle to enable ease of getting in and out of the shower, better bedside lights. Excellent restaurant though menu didn't change during our 3 day stay. Very comfortable and good sized rooms with excellent facilities.Fantastic sized rooms, mostly great facilities, and in a beautiful setting. Countr'fied, convenient and comfortable. Lovely place to stay, great food. Large comfortable rooms. Would be nice if they did bar snacks as well. Food not up to par and certainly worse than last time I stayed here.1/Shower not working properly(full power then slow power) 2/ Fan in bathroom not working. The hotel is a bit isolated and hard to find... but worth it once you get there!. Although food was generally excellent, it was all quite rich and fairly expensive. With wine a meal for 2 came to just under £80 and the inn was a little too far from other eating places to go out at night if you wanted a drink. the food on the menu was rather fancy.Too many spiders living in the room. The external accommodation block was perhaps a small minus but really of no consequence. Bar snacks/meals would have been a bonus.Shower thermostat was stuck quite hot. (Reported to reception on checkout.). Restaurant food good but slightly overpriced for what it is. Some of the food was not very good value for money. The breakfasts could have had more choice. this is not a serious critisism, however I did feel that at meal times especially for breakfast there is a shortage of staff meaning possible delays for the residents. This can be more of a concern to those on buisness who have tight schedules. The staff were not prepared for the numbers of patrons which were in attendance this weekend and they did not provide any proactive guidance as to times of meal service, local attractions, etc. Felt more like a small hotel than Inn.Driving out !!!. Service was inconsistant. Lack of choice in menu, and set eating times. The menu was probably too ambitious for them. My starter at dinner was disappointing, in that the crust under the topping was over baked and hard to cut. My duck breast was very tough although a sharper knife would have helped. Of the 3 courses, I enjoyed the sorbet and icecream at the end best.Reasonable as a touring base but limited walking from the hotel. Restaurant was probably stretching itself a little far.Low water pressure in showers
High price of meals, this is only a pub, not a gastric restuarant
Room not cleaned very well on second day
Attitude of bar staff, run out of beer on a Saturday night, would not put on a new barrel at 10.30pm, sort of `take it or leave it` you have no choice as this place is very isolated, not at Witney but north of Hailey.
