Upon arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant landlady who showed us the layout of the downstairs rooms - something that your modern day hotel doesn`t do. Our room was spacious, clean, well decorated and faced the sea. The breakfast was hearty and very well cooked. Also even thou there were other guests staying the place was very peaceful so ideal for a relaxing break. I liked the fact that it was clean. I've stayed at several hotels in Felixstowe, and the Castle Lodge is the first one that I would consider returning to. Actually, I'd go further than that. I would look forward to staying there, and next time I'd stay more than just one night. I only wish I'd discovered it years ago!.

Shame that the Lodge doesn`t do evening meals however a list is provided in your room of a wide range of places to eat in Felixstowe, which encourages you to get out & about & do some sight-seeing. Shower room rather small and as it was in the roof the shower pressure was useless!. If you were a large person then the shower location in the en-suite would be difficult to get into. Fortunately that was no problem to us as we have no problem with weight. Quite honestly I can't think of a thing I didn't like. Can't think of anything. A VERY minor point...the bath towels are a tad on the small side!. Nothing. A bit old fashioned. A lounge with open fire was advertised. The lounge was not shown to us but when we looked it seemed not to be in use. Went to another hotel for evening drinks and to sit in comfort. On saying this we did not actualy ask about the lounge so perhaps this was our fault. Not an overly generous hot serving for breakfast, but good nonetheless. Nothing. Wallpaper to much,maybe one wall.owner helpful enough but came across a little abrupt. Leaving!!!!. Nothing. The weather!. having to come home. not applicable.
