The receptionist was of high quality. the friendliness of the staff. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. receptionist. The location was good in relation to the number of calls I had to make the next day. It was appropriate for my needs of a short stay - just overnight. Hotel staff was nice. Room was causy. The location, the room was relatively clean and spacious.

Something funny was that the shower would not turn off once it was turned on. no restaurant. Dinner in evening not available when we stayed. We were not informed ofthis until we arrived. It takes too long to get warm water. blankets and not duvets on the bed. No evening meals available, not told resturant was closed, no papers in reception even though it said there was in the hotel guide. The breakfast was very oily and overcooked. We were a group of three, two breakfasts arrived and ten minutes later the third arrived. The breakfast wautress was unwelcoming and slow.The lights were not maintained. Only two worked - bedside and reading lamp. Lighting in room not fully satisfactory for work late at night. Water not hot late at night. The room had a stale smell of cigerette smoke. The breakfast was ok, need to consider making eggs with out ham/bacon for tjose who do not eat pork. The shower in the room was not of a standard expected (the shower head needs to be changed). Rooms are bit worn out. poor breakfast. Shabby decor, no help with heavy bags to go up 3 flights of stairs, no restaurant, buffet breakfast cold at 08.30, run out of mushrooms, no newspapers.no food after 9.30pm not even basic. The hotel is going through a modernisation programme and they haven't got around to the rooms yet. The shower was cold and broken, the bath was hot but took an age to get just 4" of hot water and the room was very dated.room too hot and bed too small. No napkins or grapefruit (as advertised) at breakfast. a) In my bathroom the sink plug hole was very dirty full of old matter..... b) when I returned to the hotel after my evening out, the doors were locked and I was left standing outside for quite some time as a single lady I did not appreciate this. I had to bang on the doors and keep pressing the bell for someone to respond.There wasn't much to like - it was shabby and overpriced. The breakfast was over cooked. The shower was totally ineffective. The trouser press didn't work. Bathroom floor tiles cracked and unhygenic in room 8 (excecutive room).

Travelling information

- By car: Take the m3 motorway to junction 4 at the slip road roundabout, following the signs for the a325 Farnborough and Hawley. Take the second slip road exit from the a331. This is signed for the a325.

Follow the a325, pass Farnborough Gate Retail Park and left at the next roundabout, still on the a325. Follow the road, going straight on at the next 2 roundabouts.

The hotel is on the left just after Baron's, the BMW showroom, and a small parade of shops. It is a white building at the junction of Aircraft Esplande and the a325.

- By train: Farnborough main line station connects with London Waterloo, Woking, Clapham Junction and Basingstoke, the hotel is 1 1/4 miles from the mainline station, which is used by several local taxi companies.

Farnborough North and Northcamp Stations - These are on the Reading-Gatwick Airport line. Both stations are approximately 2 miles from the hotel. Local taxis can be contacted by telephone from either station.

- London Heathrow Airport: Approximately 25 miles from the hotel. It is cheaper to book a taxi in advance of your arrival at the airport to meet you rather than use an airport-based taxi. The cost is approximately GBP 40-45.
