Absolutely wonderful place to stay!!! We came with a 4 month old, and they could not have been more accommodating! It was raining and they even lent us umbrellas for the day. The room was wonderful, clean and the staff were beyond nice. I would recommend this place to stay for anyone visiting Edinburgh. Plus it's right in the middle of everyth
... what people say » ing fun in the city! - Absolutely thrilled with this hotel. Location, Price, customer serviceand general atmosphere was more than I could have hoped for. We didhave one problem that when we first got our room it wasnt clean butthis was quickly rectified and we got a new room and a welcome pack.Only other problem was tv reception but I did not spend much timewatching tv anyway.

This was our first trip to Edinburgh.
We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice.
As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it.
We live in a very busy area of London, and our first night at the Britannia was the most

The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

Great location and convenient for pubs cafes, shops and sight seeing.
Our room situated at the back was quiet and we had a good night's
sleep. Very helpful and cheerful receptionists. The fire-alarm went off
on one occasion, firemen turned up and declared it as a false alarm, at
least we felt safe. We will book again in the near future. -
The Ibi
... what people say » s is well placed just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, so it is ideal to visit the main attractions in the city. There are many restaurants nearby, with a good choice of cuisine. The breakfast in the Ibis is wide ranging and good value.

Guards Hotel is a small hotel opposite Haymarket Railway Station in the West End and close to the EICC. Princes Street is a 10-minute walk away.
The hotel is warm, welcoming and has a military theme....

The location is fantastic, just 100 meters from Haymarket station and also easily accesible from the airport. Besides, the main attractions are also located within walking distance. No sweat!
The room and its facilites were good enough: great enough, featuring coffee machine and free wifi as well. Needless to say, the room was clean.
Breakfast was
... what people say » also great. Definitely I would come back to this hotel, while travelling to Edinburgh again. Thumbs up! -
The attention of the staff to make sure you were settled in.
The staff had put on the heating in the room in advance so it was lovely and warm.
I was leaving before breakfast started and they had laid out cereal and toast making facilities to use.
They have spent a lot of money on new carpets and upgrading bathrooms to make them clean and very fresh.
Very strong and secure wi-fi
Puts a lot of the big brands to shame

The location is superb! I was impressed with the variety of the breakfast selections. The hotel offered a 20% discount on the parking garage, which was only 1 block away from the hotel. - The staff went above and beyond. When they found out our 8 year old daughter was with us, they added a double bed for not extra charge.

Location is excellent with loads of buses into the city centre but the local bars and restaurants in Leith offer a huge choice, plus the new shopping centre is only yards away from the front door of the hotel. It wasn't obvious that a buffet breakfast was included when I booked so this was a nice surprise too. The dog was welcome too, at no extra
... what people say » cost. Excellent value. - I first booked at the Waterfront but found out that there was one closer to the city center when I reached Edinburgh and managed to change the booking. I was lucky they had rooms available and for the same price as well. Its called Express By Holiday Inn City Center.
