all reviews » I`m an Architect, specialized in hotels, been in 29 counties and hundreds of hotels, but haven't seen such amazing design, decor and luxury of fine details in each and every corner of this unique hotel. It`s beyond imagination. Staff were more than excellent. Food was great. We liked everything about this hotel. After leaving the center of the city you felt as if you were coming home to an elegant country estate. The grounds were beautiful with peacocks commonly walking around. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Everything. this was a nostalgic trip as we stayed here 29 years ago. It has improved immensely. The attention to detail was second-to-none and the atmosphere, decor, staff, food,friendliness couldn't have been better. We will definitely return soon. The suite we booked (Allan Ramsay) was truly luxurious and very comfortable. Staff were as usual very friendly and extremely helpful. Great hotel and we will be back in the future. The locals used the estate for high tea, dinner and a Scottish whiskey tasting events so it was great to know that it was appreciated by the people who lived in the area. Nothing!. Our starters were luke warm ( we could have sent back but didn't). Our vintage port came with lots of sediment at the bottom of the glass (we sent back and they replaced with fresh port). WFI did not reach our room. Vegetarian evening meal option was a tad disappointing. Poor lighting in bathroom Limited room in shower and floor flooded when used. Basic small bathroom. Internet service was unreliable. Decor seemed old fashioned. Location was more out of the way than we wanted/expected.
