The owners were absolutely brilliant. Clean and quiet. The gentleman who runs the place is wonderful. The hotel has beautiful views of the seaside and was quiet, with no disturbances from other guests. The town has all the facilities you would require and serviced by buses every 15minutes. It is right on the promenade, free parking in the road and only a short drive to town and a 2min walk to the bus stop. The family room was on the ground floor which is great with young children. Very nice personnell. The BandB is located on the Portobello Seaside close to the beach.Location was very good. I waked along the beautiful seaside. Pleasent staff and friendly atmosphere. Excellent location right on the beach.Quiet, pretty good location, clean. you weren't bothered by management. proximity to the beach,and bus links into edinburgh city centre. Friendly helpful owner, well organised. Clean rooms. Quick response to us having left items behind.Nice Room with great view to te ocean. There was no water pressure in the shower and you have a choice between too cold or too hot.We didn't spend much time in the BandB, Breakfast could be better and the electric shower was changing between hot and cold on the highest flow setting although it stayed at a constant temperature on the middle flow setting. Very uncomfortable matress! Also paid £5 for a full English Breakfast that consisted only of 1 egg, bacon and mushrooms- not very 'full' at all!. Mattress, television, food. room could have been bigger,perhaps needs updating. shower a little temperamental,but on the whole it was ok.Cramped rooom - although it did say "small" on the website. Thin walls - you could hear everything going on in other rooms, corridor, breakfast room despite other residents being quiet. The cleanliness of the bathroom.

Information about the area
The guest house is convenient for Musselburgh horse course and local Golf courses. We are situated right in front of the Portobello promenade at Straiton Place.
Room information details
One double bedroom has a private bathroom with no sea views.
Both family bedrooms have a private bathroom each and sea views.
Each room has a wash hand basin.
Travelling information
There is a regular and efficient bus service to the city centre. Portobello is a mere 15 minute bus ride from Edinburgh city centre which runs every 10 minutes from early morning through to about 23:30. Buses to and from the city centre are the 26, 15, 15A (red buses) and 66 and 129 (SMT buses). There is in addition a night bus service available.
The A1 and the city bypass are situated nearby. When you approach Edinburgh by car:
- follow the city bypass and continue onto the A1.
- follow signs for Portbello and turn into Bellfield Street from Portobello High Street. Straiton place is at the foot of Bellfield Street and close to Portobello swimming pool.
