The freedom of having an apartment for the duration of our stay and alsothe splendid views. no/will be back again soon.level of finish in the room decoration and maintenance a little low but nothing to bad. The building works outside.The amount of hot water on hand at any one time. Yes, 300m from Ocean Terminal was as the crow flys not when walking. Also on check in they required photographic ID which we didn't have. Don't carry passports around with us.Not necessarily a "dislike", but one has to accept that the accommodation is a few kilometers from the centre of Edinburgh, and not immediately nearby stores, cafes etc. i would have liked a tv in the bed room and some cleaning materials, ie a mop and tea towel. We could not find the apartment block. It took us about half an hour of going round and round. Much better signage is required. We would have liked a radio because with our small one there was enormous interference which virtually obliterated the signal on AM, FM and LW. It was a bit tricky to find but it was late when I arrived!. The twin beds were joined together to make a double bed which meant it was a bit uncomfortable. Also an under-lay on the bed would have been more comfortable and hygienic than having just the sheet then mattress.No - although we did not have a kettle and I had to request one from reception. The finish in the apartments was starting to look quite shabby, the carpet had huge stains on it and the en suite sink was leaking straight onto the floor. The curtains in the bedroom were fixed to both sides of the curtain rail so couldn't be opened which was strange.Could of been signed better for booking in. There is a lot of development and we drove past a couple of times, ending up at neibouring appartments. Not close enough to the royal mile, drive was a little difficult.After we paid in full on arrival you still charged again with my booking credit card which I have to contact the concierge. Check in time to late check out time too early. Some of the mattresses were uncomfortable - the springs were too close to the surface. My only gripe, having stayed a few times now is the cheapness and lack of availability of kitchen utensils and crockery. Some are better than others so it does depend on what room you get.There are no net curtains. some of the fittings were poor quality and starting to show signs of wear and tear.Improve cleanliness. Some lights was out of order. Check-in desk not avaible after 8pm, only by telephone. Check-out too early (10am); after, there is a cash penalty. Reception open at 10am: quite late. Maybe my only issue would be the security of you underground carpark, on our arrival there was a car in a parking bay with a smashed passenger window indicating a break in, so maybe adding c.c.t.v. would help.TV reception not so great. Location quite far from city centre. I felt the beds should have had matress covers, not just a thin sheet. would of been perfect but no lights worked !. We were not informed of the gym and spa facilities or whatever else wasavailable to us - this was disappointing - and also a lot of buildingwork still in progress.

Please note that Ocean Apartments do not accept any groups bookings. Please note bed linen is not provided for cots. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Ocean Apartments in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. A damage deposit of GBP 100 is required on arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 14 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full via credit card, subject to an inspection of the property.

Leith has undergone huge regeneration and redevelopment in recent years. It is now home to the Scottish government and attractions such as the Royal Yacht Britannia (300 metres) and the entertainment/shopping complex, Ocean Terminal (300 metres). The cosmopolitan area has a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars. The Port of Leith gives a timeless view across the River Forth. The Royal Botanic Gardens are 5 minutes’ drive away.

Travelling information

By Car (from the city centre): - From Waverly Station Bridge, cross diagonally right over Princes Street onto South St Andrew Street. - Take a left onto St Andrew Square and then take the first right. - Follow St Andrew Square down, and take the second right onto Queen Street. - From Queen Street, head along to York Place. - At the traffic signals, continue forward until you reach Picardy Place roundabout. - Turn left (first exit) at the roundabout and head down past The Edinburgh Playhouse (on your right) until you reach another roundabout. - Go straight over the roundabout (first exit) and follow Leith Walk until the road forks. - At these traffic signals turn left onto Great Junction Street. - Take the second left onto Lindsay Road. - Follow the road until you reach a roundabout and take the second exit, following signs for The Western Harbour Development, The Element and The Next Generation Gym. - Follow this road until you reach the final block. Reception is on the ground floor of block C. This is where you check-in and pick up your keys. By Air: The apartments are approximately 8 miles (13 km) from Edinburgh Airport. The airport bus runs every 15 minutes to the Waverley Bridge terminus (opposite Waverley Station). By Bus: From Princes Street, catch the number 10 bus to Leith Harbour.
