Easy to book, very attentive property managers, Large Victorian style apartment on the top floor close t the city centre. Its about a 15-20 minute walk to the main city centre but lots of other bars/cafes/restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Whilst there was limited metered parking in the street it was cheap at only GB$1 per hour during the day, free after about 5pm till 8:30am. The bonus was that if you ask the company they can arrange a free NCP city parking pass at one of the main cit.
all reviews » We stayed at the Blinkbonny Rd residence and it was great. The owner was extremely friendly and the home was immaculate. Absolutely made my family feel like we stayed at our home away from home. We can't wait until our next visit. Spacious apartment. Great situation, near shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Walking distance of city centre. Easy bus route. Friendly staff. Good and safe location. Free gated underground parking. Modernly furnished. Fully equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds, great location - quiet street but 5 mins bus ride/15 min walk to centre. Wonderful stay in a beautiful house. Mike was really welcoming. Well located for a trip to visit Edinburgh and its sights. Stockbridge is a great place with all you need for either eating in or out (though I wouldnt particularly recommend the Buffalo Grill). Unlimited heating and hot water when needed. The apartment had every thing needed for a short break very clean & comfortable close to all amenities. Close to the park and the historic centre. There was nothing that we didn't like. No negatives. The lack of any homeliness about the apartment. No curtains/blinds in living room, bare & squeeky floor throughout, no table to sit round for meals, tiny (&tinny) t.v. and generally quite spartan throughout. No welcome pack other than a tub of salt which in this day and age of customer service I found pretty shocking. Its a functional apartment and no more. The street its on is also quite noisy through the night even though its not on the main road - must be used as a cut through. Didn't like basement not being able to look out of window was disappointing also for a apartment thought toilet paper should have been provided. I was given the wrong code for the key safe, and spent ten minutes in the Edinburgh cold, waiting for a call back from the contact number. The kitchen window is jammed open and cannot be shut - not a great set up in the winter. The central heating timer was out of kilter. When you run the bath, lots of gunk comes through the taps - black flakes of who knows what. All in all, at nearly £80 a night, this flat does not give good value for money.
