What people say
Beautiful and convenient location for exploring lochs. Petrol station is
nearby with quite cheap price and little supermarket. There is always
good food in the Bistro and full breakfast in the morning. Nice trails
nearby walking distance with different difficulties levels . Beautiful
views you could never stop watching. Will definitely advise to book a
room with view as we stayed in one with and without. Botanic garden and
Puck Glen just 10 min by car. The owner is very helpful send us message

Such a lovely, quirky, friendly and totally delightful resting place on
a tour through Scotland. Warmest of welcomes, nothing too much trouble
and a view from the dining/breakfast room to die for. An interesting
craft shop in the foyer. Numerous original artworks on display (and for
sale - at a price!) and an overall sense of owner involvement and desire
to place. Excellent breakfasts and a sufficiently varied dinner,
competently cooked and presented, menu in the bistro overlooking loch
and mou.
The owners Ian and Esta were increadibly friendly, very helpful, and a delight to talk to. The room was all that we needed for single parent and 9 year old. Food was amazing and service was perfect. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Restaurant and lounge area was very comfortable and all in all we had the best week of our 4 weeks away in Scotland. Could not have asked for a better place to relax for a week with beautiful views and lovely company within the other guests. free wifi was the best! The .
Your host, Ian gives the hospitality 110%. Be prepared for the most entertaining explanation of why black pudding served should join the world heritage. The lady of the house can be heard making everything work like clockwork in the background, including her refreshingly honest lamentations about that intruding neighbour's cat. The family are really unforgetable characters. Take a run along the firth, beautiful region, wildlife including seals, now without that huge chimney that was demolished .
I am disabled, the room was near the front door,12 steps from disabled parking bay to room;v large room,en-suite, comfy chair; staff were really helpful;food superb, full resturant menu; I recommend the local fish dishes; have the smoked salmon and eggs breakfast, the creme brulee dessert, everything homemade. Chef had bought in glutenfree bread for me, could not be more attentive.
The staff were absolutely lovely: very friendly, welcoming and efficient. We were eating at a friend's house, so only had breakfast, but this was delicious, and we would certainly consider having our evening meal there in the future. The lochside position gives wonderful views, especially as we had a full moon - we'll be back next year!.
Warm welcome by Ian. Exceptionally helpful and friendly.Nice room with
sea view. Additional heater provided due to extreme cold weather.Dinner
was really nice with "bring your own bottle"- and no corkage
charge ! Breakfast was top quality, with genuine Stornoway black pudding
!! Couldn't fault the place for service and good value.
Weekend away with mum and mother in law. Mum and I had a lovely room with perfect views,. Very warm welcome , made to feel at home. Dinner and breakfast excellent. The hot smoked salmon was out of this world! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Cannot recommend this gem of a place highly enough.
We received a great welcome and were made to feel at home for our complete stay. We had a fantastic view from our Bedroom windows and enjoyed the great breakfasts and evening meals some evenings. It was enjoyable to look round the Gallery and we made a small purchase before we departed.
The location of the Pier Hotel was superb giving exceptional views of the sea loch, countryside & mountains from our room. The room was large with two windows to observe splendid views. Everything was comfortable & clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
This was our second trip to the Pier Bistro. The owner, Ian, is genuinely friendly and very helpful regarding questions or requests. I absolutely love the locally fresh smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Our room faced the rear and was small, but comfortable and clean.
we liked the arty side of it. lots of quirky items to see, some great paintings although a bit pricey. a very nice fancy goods area. all we required in room an nice comfortable bed. Ian was very welcoming and nothing was to much to trouble to him.
Room clean, tidy and comfortable with excellent views. Superb breakfast and evening meal in bistro, all quality ingredients which showed in quality of food. Ian, the proprietor could not have been a better host with nothing being too much trouble.
Friendly and obliging host who was happy to provide extra comforts and assistance to us, eg, he offered to freeze our ice pack for our picnic box.
The breakfast room/sitting area overlooks a loch giving spectacular views morning and evening.
Unique style of bistro, quality of the food and service were 5*, owner v attentive, beautiful peaceful location by Holy Loch, spacious room overlooking the Loc h, fabulous artwork on walls and in gallery/shop.

The location on the edge of the Loch with the conservatory was brilliant.
The design of the place is very colourful.

Fabulous views from room. Good location,.
Location and layed-back friendlieness.
Location, all round quality, food.
everything was first class.
Friendly staff.
As somebody already mention the house is little bit tired and needs
updating but owner keeps it clean and comfy as possible.
A small point: it would be good if the blinds extended to the full
length of the windows. Also a bit more wardrobe/baggage space would
be welcome. And how is anyone supposed to use the a mirror fixed to the
wall beneath one of the many art pieces adorning the room?.
No complaints at all. A brilliant holiday.
Minor point mattress far to soft which didn't allow a perfect nights sleep.
Having to leave.
There was nothing we didn't like.
our room was to the rear as was expected as we were on a Groupon deal.
The bistro is closed on a Monday night which meant we had to travel several miles for an evening meal.
No hairdryer.
Nothing to dislike. It snowed one day and kept us indoors for the morning, it would have been nice to have paid extra and had a view of the loch, we had a back room, but normally you only sleep and shower and are gone for the day.
The shower in room 1 was very difficult to regulate. the water was either freezing or scalding. For anyone on a longer stay than our one night, more storage space, ie a wardrobe or chest of drawers would have been most advantageous.
The mattress on our bed was uncomfotable.
Nothing.
For the money it was good, but I would rather pay a bit more and the decor finished a bit better.
nothing.
Nothing.
The prices over the days of the games seemed very high and so we were unable to stay longer.
Further out of town than I originally thought from the description. But no problem if you have a vehicle.
Nothing.
Can't think of anything.
Nothing!.
Bed was too hard,& the shower was very poor in room 1 .
Only that no evening meal available on sunday nights as lunchtime
carvery. However not made as a complaint ,more as a compliment to the
Pier House as nowhere else was as good!.
none.
Nothing springs to mind.
Noise shower fan next door.
The bistro being closed on Monday as the other places to eat in the area
were poor.
nothing !.
Room at top of stairs so heard lots of corridor noise.
