We were travelling with 3 children from 18months to 15 years all were accomodated and enjoyed their stay and we had the luxary and good food but could also relax as the staff were great and the restaurant open to children of all ages. A pleasure to staff at this hotel and would certainly revisit with or without children as also a great venue for a weekend away. A great place, close to City Airport. Lovely room, good food (though rather pricey), very welcoming staff. Only there one night but will definitely use again.

The service was excellent, staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. Theroom was modern, spacious and clean.Found staff where welcoming and it was excellent the use of the swimming pool and leisure facilities. The room was big and clean although did occasionally smell of cigarette smoke. The swimming pool was warm and clean with very helpful staff. Great location near city and airport. The leisure centre and pool were great. Food in the Bistro was excellent. Very relaxing, and an excellent restaurant.Expensive taxi to city, but didnt matter as the food is excellent at the hotel. Could not find fault during our stay.The reception staff when we were leaving were not just as nice unfortunately, but everyone has a bad day at work once in a while i suppose. Definitely wouldnt stop me from staying again anyway!. Breakfast is not worth 10 pounds, but I noticed all hotels serve the same breakfast for a similar amount.I was staying in a shally that forced me to walk outside the main hotel .on one ocassion i got wet when it was raining. There was nothing i disliked, i just found the bar staff under pressure at night, there didn't seem to be enough and i almost didn't want to bother them!!. The only aspect that could be improuved is the quality of dinners. Dinner was OK, but not anything special. very poor service each evening. There was apparantly no allocated witing staff for the tables, each being dealt with communally. This led to, for example, drinks not arriving, menus not being offered after main course, reminders that orders had been taken being necessary and no spoons supplied for dessert.The hotel could do with some refurbishment, especially the bedrooms which are quite outdated and not four star standard. Bar/reception area would also benefit from some new furniture, sofas etc to make the most of it's beautiful shape and character. A more extensive snack menu e.g. more sandwiches, light bites for lunch time food would also be good. wine was pricey. wedding guests had taken up most of the seating area of the lobby and even though we made a reservation for dinner we had to wait until a table became available. bistro very enjoyable and we were compensated with a complimentary drink. food was pricy for the quality receive. The room was clean and tidy , unfortunately the doors to the courtyard didn't open properly which would have been nice. And the woodwork round the dressing table ect need some work doing to it as it was rather shabby. Restaraunt was closed except on Sat. night although the bistro was open. Also the Leisure Centre was in a seperate building which entailed going outside which is not the most pleasant thing to do when it is cold and wet.no hair conditioner available in the bathroom. The restaurnat hotel food was heavily saturated in butter - too fatty. There wasn't a kettle in the room and there was the occasional smell of smoke.Room was a bit old fashioned and could do with updating - not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The room was a bit shabby - stains on carpet and carpet join was lifting. Door to bathroom did not close properly. Very noisy late at night with kids running loose down the corridor using it as a racetrack at 1:30am, from a wedding earlier in the evening. Room service breakfast was always slightly wrong. We did fill in a customer complaints form though.
