Hotel was easy to find, great for parking, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Staff were first class, friendly and efficient. Food was very good with good range from bar snacks upwards, breakfast very good. Staff at golf Club friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Food very good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Can't answer no.6 we booked here because it was reasonably close to Bickley castle for a wedding and a visit to friends.
all reviews » Attention to detail, a willingness to make everything easy on check-in and check-out, the very friendly staff in the bar and restaurant area, and the liver and bacon dinner - marvellous!. I have stayed at the Padbrook several times and the staff there are exceptional. They always remember my family and myself and are very helpful. It is very much a home away from home. We were in a disabled room and all staff made us feel very welcome. The staff right across the board made you feel special and nothing to much trouble. Only there for one night but I have no reason at all not to recommend based on my visit, during which I ate in the restaurant and used the bar area. Great base for our needs and good on-site golf / sports facilities. Staff very attentive and helpful. Food plentiful and fresh. Staff were very helpful and chatty. Room was great and clean. Food in the restaurant was lovely and well priced. Lovely staff and the food was good quality and good value. The room was spacious and a decent bathroom. The hotel is clean and well situated for golfing (own 18 holes golf course) and exploring beatiful Devon (15 min drive to Exeter). The golf course is difficult for novices, however it may plaese the advanced golfers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was nice and staff friendly. Direction were acuratew. Sorry nothing. Limited channels on TV in room, no WIFI in room - free in reception/bar but my trip coincided with a wedding reception in the same area. Breakfasts were rather expensive. My only criticicsm might be the bed was a little firm and the covers (sheet, blanket combo) seemed a little dated. I didn't watch TV in the end, but a more modern television with the ability to plug in a DVD payer would have been a welcome touch. No WiFi in rooms. Toilets are very difficult to flush, push button hard to operate. Car parking a bit messy due to update work - but temporary issue. not enough pillows in the room only one extra. Needed a pen to order breakfast and had to fetch one just need to check these things when rooms are cleaned. No fridge in the room. The outside "works in progress" should have had screens to block unsightly views. Once works are completed that will be ok though. No wifi. No continental option for breakfast. My grand daughter had cereal and a yogurt only which cost the standard breakfast rate. The bed even though double felt like two single beds joint together was not very confortable and very hard matress my back still in pain. Wanted to secure payment on my card which went out of my bank and took 3 days to come back to me although we paid cash on arrival. Great Curry house in town The Eastern Eye. extra charges for internet, no soap in room as both bottles were empty, no Tea spoons for making coffee etc. Car park is undergoing some building work but didn't affect our stay at all. the drinks in the room were sparce and only for adults despite them knowing I had a 5 year old with me. The biscuits that were available had already been opened a one eaten. No freeview tv I would have liked free wifi. The choice of food. Toilet flush. Hard to push. Nothing. tv channels a bit limited. There should not be a charge for WiFi. Its year 2013,I stayed two nights and could not believe I had only one free hour over 48 hrs free access to the internet, I had to pay an extra £ 9.50, for internet access, I was on business and like many others use a computer to keep in touch with my customers, I will think carefully before staying again. Sheets and blankets. Having to wait 10 minutes to check out, appeared to be very short staffed. internet is very slow in rooms, empty shower/soap container over bath, second visit in 2 weeks and same thing on both occasions. Food was distinctly average for the type of venue. one speed taps. I have asked on the letsbookhotel.com for a twin bedroom to have the comfort of two beds with two sets of lining, however we were given as a mature couple the last available room - the disabled room with two completly separated beds, which did not fit the purpose of my holiday. The staff was not helpful to resolve the problem. Children's beds were not very sturdy or comfortable. Could do with some pictures in the room. I think the full price is expensive. felt the room was out dated and the overall look from the carpark to the ambience of the hotel was lacking, it looked like a building site. White wine was warm,starter was more like soup than muchrooms! Beef madras was tough, lamb rack - no rack to be seen!! we asked for a cheese platter and a jug of icet to take to the room, charged £5 for the pleasure of carrying the tray myself!! Bed was very hard, bed sheets horrid!!. Hotel was empty, no life, old fashioned and tired.
