Staff were very friendly. Hotel setting was beautiful. The view.The scenery was lovely, This hotel was not 3 star. Floors pretty creaky. Outside of hotel seems to need maintenance; windows needed to be replaced; heating system soemwhat aged. The food. Hotel extremely old and need of refurbishment. I was appalled that I had to eat my evening meal whilst listening to a customer in the public bar swearing - the most awful language, at the top of his voice. Myself and other diners were disgusted and even more so that no members of staff thought to ask him to stop but were actually taking part in a conversation with him. It spoiled an otherwise ok visit.dining area is ok, but bedrooms needs sereous refurnishment, even tv-30years old and you can see only 3 chanels, no shampoo or gel in the bath. The room was very poor, i.e. windows and window sills were dirty, the sink in the room was cracked and had a dripping tap which I reported.The bed cover was thread bear, the wardrobe was like two boxs put together, the bath room across the hall also had a crack in the sink and a dripping tap, the shower room was dirty and the sealent around the bottom was black. I have pictures to send.
