The manager, Pedro, was great and especially kind when I got ill during my stay (nothing to do with them, I'm currently in hospital being treated for malaria after spending time in Tanzania). The breakfast - according to my husband - was excellent and the little village is lovely. Hotel is friendly and the surrounding area is beautiful. Fantastic welcome - the most dog-friendly place I have ever stayed in. The food was also exceptional - local produce with imaginative twists and beautifully cooked. The location is central in the village and the views of the surrounding hills are amazing. It is a wonderful historic building with nooks, crannies and beams everywhere.

The breakfast in the morning was very good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. A very friendly place and the staff were very helpful. breakfasts could be potentially enormous if you had everything and food was generally good. very handily placed in the High Street. Very clean, towels changed daily too. The food was stunning, the Dragon is unspoilt and beautifully quaint, relaxed, chilled and the staff were polite and very attentive. The room was spacious, had all extras that are expected. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff went out of their way to help (came in half hour early as we wanted an early breakfast). Very friendly and helpful staff. There were a couple of beams in my room which could prove a bit awkward for taller people. Shower fitment not up to much in that room. The cleanliness and bathroom needs some serious work. The décor of the room we stayed in needs urgent attention, less shabby furniture and clean window cushions. Guests should have a warning regarding the parking and its very tight access. The very narrow entrance to the car park - but it felt safe and free. We had to pay the full price at the time of booking - I have since found out that this business is in liquidation, and therefore I would be concerned about pre-paying in advance for this hotel in the future. Although we only needed tv in the mornings we were unaible to get any bbc programmes but all commercial channels available. The room was a little dated and short on electric light bulbs!. Just a personal thing the car park entrance to the Dragon Inn very tight. Would have been nice to know that before i arrived!. they changed the towels everyday unecessarily. I couldn't turn down the heat in my room (number 11). Nothing. Decor a bit tired but to be honest that didn't bother us at all. Our ensuite bathroom was a bit odd; there was no room to stand upright in the kidney shaped bath when taking a shower. Dinner was good (delicious gazpacho) but breakfast was a disappointment; the chef should be taught how to fry an egg. Bathroom. Wash basin badly cracked. Room in need of revamp. Small bathroom and you couldn't stand up in the shower. Great bath though!. The decor of the room I had is in need of updating. En suite bathroom was a bit dated and needed renewing. checkout a bit slow, as only staff on was serving the breakfast. No receipt prepared. Liked everything. N/A. Breakfast was poor. At the moment (Nov. 2013) the rooms are 'old fashioned' however they are comfortable and warm. I understand that a major re-furbishment is imminent and this will transform the experience. side lamps in bedroom not bright enough to read by. Room was a little 'tired'. Breakfast was a little poor - overcooked bacon which seemed to have been sitting a while plus it would have been nice to select type of eggs. We had been looking forward to trying the restaurant for dinner but ended up choosing somewhere else based on the breakfast unfortunately. Needs a facelift. Entrance to car park very narrow and had to retract wing mirrors on my car to fit through! Be careful. No big deal but the hotel needs an upgrade in certain areas . The shower!. rooms could do with a bit of painting ,. nothing. Bed was uncomfortable (could feel the springs) Shower was very weak. we appear to have stayed at a time of change of owners.The hotel information folder was way out of date i.e. it said dinner was served 5pm to 9 pm,so i had my insulin at 5pm expecting to eat at 5 15 not so,dinner was not on till 6pm which for me was a big problem,i asked for a coffee with sugar to up my sugars till dinner was served. we spoke to the manager who told us they were having chef problems [not our problem].and they even added my coffee onto our meal bill,petty,. 1) Bathroom very poor with no anti slip surface in the bath 2) No headboard and just two singles pushed together 3) Poor access to parking facilities 4) waited in excess of 20 minutes for breakfast with no reason provided. tight to get into car park, steep hill to walk to car park if you have mobility problems. we checked in and arranged to eat at 7pm, but when we came down at 7pm the resturant was closed and we were told they had no food and were never going to be open that night, so we were angry for being booked at table when we checked in to find that was incorrect, as it was a cold wet night, at 7pm we then had to find somewhere else to eat. Breakfast was very poor. My friend just wanted some baked beans 'we dont do those'... We asked were coffee and were told to get milk for our drinks from the large jug on the breakfast bar used for cereal. The room was advertised as having a shower but my room was on the top floor with a sloping roof. I had a bath with a shower adapter but now way to stand and have a typical shower. The bed was like sleeping on a door handles and all. The bath had a chip the size of a 10 pence piece. The bathroom had black spot mould in the corners. This room definately was not worth 80 pounds a night bed and breakfast.
